In a colour combination of black and red, the Desire range has been designed with the passionate cook in mind, combining outward confidence with uncompromised functionality. A collection of irresistible and striking appliances in a stylish matt black finish with accents of vibrant red, Desire caters for the trend towards home dining and the demand for appliances which reflect this passion; enabling a more enjoyable experience.

There are many people who prefer to have home cooked food with every ingredient prepared from scratch, but they also do not have the time that food prepping takes. The Desire Food Processor is designed to help with slicing, shredding, rasping, whisking and blending and in its modern black and red casing, it looks stylish on your worktop too.

The Desire range has been designed with the wannabe domestic goddess in mind, combining style and efficiency with uncompromised functionality. This Food Processor is designed to make your life easier by peeling away the effort and time it takes to whip up dinner. It has all the gadgets and accessories to help such as a capacious 1.5-litre mixing bowl for mixing pastry, dough and batter. It includes an extra jug blender that you can pop on and use instead which is ideal for making soups, sauces and smoothies. Its collection of stainless steel blades each is designed for a different slicing or shredding task. It’s designed to be easy to use the guide shows you how to simply and swiftly change the attachments.

Power up

First of all check that your food processor is standing on a stable, level surface. Before powering up, choose your setting, i.e. chopping, slicing, whisking etc and that the correct attachments are in place as outlined in your hand book. Check that the speed control is set to 0 then switch on. It has non-slip feet that keep it in place even when it’s working at top speed. You can adjust the speed control by turning it clockwise. Use the low speed (setting 1) for lighter applications, using mainly liquid ingredients, and high speed (setting 2) for heavier applications, using mainly solid ingredients.

Turning it anti-clockwise to Y will give you a short burst at high speed, for more precise control. In this direction, the control is spring-loaded. When you let go, it’ll return to 0. Don’t run the motor for more than 1 minute, it may overheat. After 1 minute switch off for at least 2 minutes, to allow it to recover.

Adding Ingredients

To add ingredients while the blender is working, turn the cap anti-clockwise to unlock it, lift it off, pour the new ingredients via the hole, then replace the cap, and turn it clockwise to lock it. Check that the added ingredients don’t push the volume in the jug past 1500 ml.

When finished

Turn the speed control to 0, and wait till the blades stop moving. Simply turn the jug to unlock it, and lift it off the motor unit.

Caring for your Food Processor
  • Switch off and unplug before cleaning
  • Wipe the outside of the motor unit with a clean damp cloth
  • Wash the jug, lid and cap in warm soapy water, or in a dishwasher
  • Use a brush to clean the blades

    1.0 out of 5 stars TERRIBLE 16 Nov 2012
    Verified Purchase
I ordered this as i just had surgery and can only eat soups for 6 weeks. The product looks good but performs terrible! The jug blender cannot be used as the pour spout is not sealed so when I turned the blender on to blend soup it shot out the pour spout and all up the kitchen walls. It wasn't over filled, even half full it gives the same result. It's a clear design fault. The processor is just as bad. The "chopper" in the base is spun far too fast and ends up rattling loose and hitting the lid. The product is unusable and if you do your research you'll find many more complaining about this. My advice... spend your money on a different brand or you'll regret it

Bought to grate carrots etc, blades are not up to the task, they were bent after a very short time and will not fit into their protective casings.Would not recommend for any tough work.

    1.0 out of 5 stars Awful 25 Mar 2013
    Verified Purchase
Bought this at the end of October 2012, first time I used this I had to continually put blades back in place as they kept coming off but finally got through chopping my veg for soup. tried to use this again yesterday for only the second time but had to resort to chopping veg by hand, as the blade would not stay in position, as someone with multiple sclerosis and very much dependant on gadgets I can honestly say this is one of the worst I have ever bought, you trust buying a reputable brand you will get a good product, but not with this product.

1.0 out of 5 stars So disappointed... 24 Oct 2012
    By maanse
At first appearance the unit looks great and looks functional, however when i came to use the item it was a different story. I mainly use the jug attachment not so much the food processor bowl, however when i did used the food processor bowl i noticed that there seems to be a major design flaw.... The metal blade when 'rested' in position suffers from centrifugal force! Meaning that when the unit is powered up the blade rises above the items you are trying to chop.

The main problem though is with the jug, when using it i noticed that the motor makes a screaming sound every now and again, on closer inspection i found that the jug doesn't hold liquid extremely well and will empty in less than 10 mins...... into the electrical motor.
