I've been using it for about a week now, and it's perfect for one person. The water for one cup boils in a flash. I can hear it boiling, but it's not very loud, and I find it a comforting sound. It's very light, and that's a bonus for me as I have osteoarthritis in my hands.

Other kettles I've had in the past have had various defects, but this has none. The steam stays clear of my hand when pouring, the spout does not drip, and it's very easy to dock it on the base.

A final bonus is that it's helping me to save electricity now I've stopped using bigger kettles.

My 95 year old mum can no longer handle a 1.7 litre kettle. This is the best smaller, cordless, jug kettle for her to use that I have managed to find. It feels nice and light and is well made in stainless steel. A litre of water is about right for a couple of good cups of tea. The lid opens and closes easily and the on/off switch is clear and positive. There is no visible water guage, only a maximum line inside the kettle. In an ideal world this could have been clearer with an external mark. Also in an ideal world there could have been an indicator light when it was in use. But never mind! This is far superior to some other cheap plastic kettles, marketed at a high price as suitable for the less able!

This kettle was bought for use in a bedroom, to replace a much older and worn out one. We chose it because it is smaller than a standard sized kettle, would sit easily on a tray at the side of the room and would not waste electricity boiling unnecessary amounts of water. We are delighted with it. It is stable and safe to use, heats up quickly and without much noise. It pours cleanly, feels balanced in the hand and has an easy handle to grip. There isn't a 'window' on the side to see how much water has been put in, but with a small kettle like this, that is not much of an issue. You can easily see in the top anyhow - in the good old-fashioned way. We love this. Perfect for purpose.

Brilliant little kettle. Compact and quick boiling. Did not find it noisy as had read on other reviews. It must save money in electricity because you are not tempted to fill it to the top as you do with a normal size kettle even when you only need enough hot water for 2 people! The only negative is, if you can call it that, is that there is no neon light to say it is turned on as you get with most kettles now. Obviously there is the on/off switch, but otherwise delighted with purchase

I always feel happier buying goods that have received favourable reviews from Joe Public as was the case here. Unfortunately, having purchased this 18569 model, we were disappointed!!

It is compact. Sitting on its 14cm diameter base, its total height is a mere 22cm, and yet it easily holds enough water to make three mugs of tea or coffee. Before buying it, we had filled a measuring jug with a Litre of water, and then poured it into some mugs that we use daily, ensuring that this size was adequate for our needs. There are only two of us at home now. When any family visit we use our standard size 1.7Ltr kettle.

In common with the majority of kettles its 2kw element is concealed, it boils quickly enough, and is not overly noisy. The handle is comfortable to hold for people who are left or right handed, and with large or small hands, (I notice that quite a few elderly are using this kettle). It is very light.

As is quite common practise,, once the water boils the kettle turns itself off by the the pressurised steam going down a pipe and activating a sensor/Bi-Metallic Strip/Thermostat? (providing the lid is closed of course) and this again, works perfectly. This is why you often see condensation on kettle bases after use.

What we really do not like, is the way that the kettle, when empty is really wobbly, unsteady and easy to knock over (as I did when using it for the first time). It is stopped from seating properly on its base by a very small, but quite strongly sprung (safety?

This is cute but functional and practical. I love the feel of it in my hand ... very well balanced. It makes at least 4 large cups of tea... I don't know what some of the other reviewers mean when they say it only makes two. It arrived well packaged and in good time. I'm very happy overall.

Smart compact kettle, doesn't take up too much space on the worktop and doesn't waste water. No water level gauge and no lever on the base for opening the lid, lid needs to be opened to fill. At the moment drinks 'taste' a little but that so often happens with new kettles, hopefully that will improve with use. Just the job!

Excellent, just the right size, and so lightweight for one who cannot lift things. What else is there to say. Just right.
