After just over 1 year's use I thought it about time I reviewed this steamer.
This steamer has probably been used to cook 5-7 different vegetables at least 3-5 times per week for a year and it has performed perfectly every time. The only problems we have encountered are the occasional vegetable in the top basket not cooking through properly but this has in the main been due to either placing too many vegetables in the lower baskets preventing the steam rising sufficiently through all baskets or not setting sufficient steam time on the timer.
Problems:- The bottoms of two of the baskets broke with the first couple of months. The baskets are in two pieces and the bases pop into locating lugs in the containers. In my opinion this is a design fault. Given the number of holes in the perspex bases it is inevitable that one or more of the bases will break through the middle at some stage in the steamers lifetime.
I have glued our containers together on several occasions and I have atached a short video of the repair so that the problem is clear.
Lastly I would warn users that the pouring spout at the side of the steamer base vents excess steam and can very easily badly scauld the hand of the unwary. We have found that by placing a wooden spatular over the pouring spout all of the steam can be directed through the containers which is useful for occasions when you need quick cook times or have overloaded the containers with vegetables.
I am about to replace this steamer and will be looking for one that has solid one-piece containers for durability . In conclusion I would say good value for money but a dissapointingly short lifetime.

Excellent price. Large "spout" from the base making refilling and emptying easy. Dial not digital so can extend time during cooking easily. Baskets slot inside each other so less bulky when not being used. Adjustable base on baskets so can put tall items in. Can use any of the 3 baskets singly on the base. Only downside for me was it stained easily with carrot juices, but this was only inside.

This excellent, efficient steamer is a definite improvement on the previous model, in that it is easier and safer to refill without disturbing the steaming process. Also, layers can be used individually, so you don't have to worry so much about getting the right thing in the right container before you start - ideal for a muddle headed cook like me! In fact, the only complaint I have is that there are no handles on the condensation tray, so it can't be emptied. But that isn't the problem I first thought it was, because it overflows back into the water reservoir. I'm not sure I like that though, the idea of having condensation fall through the food, picking up colour, flavour and debris, then overflow back into the reservoir doesn't seem quite right to me, but it doesn't seem to get too dirty. And this does only happen on a really long steam - like the Christmas puddings, which are all wrapped up anyway!
Another plus is the size of the reservoir - this model holds enough water to allow cooking through the entire time on the dial. So no boiling dry with this one - which is what killed my last one!
One of the best aspects of the previous model is still present - the compact nature of the storage. It all fits into itself and packs neatly into a small space. This one has an even smaller footprint while cooking just as much food. In fact I managed to get an extra pudding basin in this year!
Another plus is the size of the reservoir - this model holds enough water to allow cooking through the entire time on the dial. So no boiling dry with this one - which is what killed my last one!
One of the best aspects of the previous model is still present - the compact nature of the storage. It all fits into itself and packs neatly into a small space. This one has an even smaller footprint while cooking just as much food. In fact I managed to get an extra pudding basin in this year!

A good priced item.
A very good priced item. Great to fill, easy to use, only niggle had to mark the baskets 1 2 and 3, a bit fiddly to assemble but on the whole a good buy.

Item fine. I already have a steamer that broke. Works well but the plastic tiers are not sturdy but flexible but seems to work. Itsm received well packaged with rapid delivery

3 tier White food Steamer
