I have a food processor but wanted something to just make meringues, batters etc., without having to faff about with the big mixer. After problems with a different brand of mixer I finally ordered this as a replacement. The beaters do actually come out of this one without two hands and muscles to achieve it (unlike the previous brand I ordered)! Russell Hobbs lives up to the name I have used and found excellent in the past. Not too noisy, speeds are more than adequate for anything you may need to make, plus it looks smart and clean and is a good weight to use, heavy enough to feel positive, not too heavy that you can't hold it comfortably. Would recommend this mixer without a doubt.

Best beater on the Market but slightly expensive. Easy to use and excellent beaters - not those flat beaters but nice round wire ones. Good wattage capable of mixing well.

I bought this mixer in June, first time I used it, I found it extremely heavy and the speed so fast on one that the mixture went all over the worktops and floor. So went back to my 20 year old one. Second time of use, one of the forks would not fit in at all, so changed over beaters and it worked, just to do the same as before, high speed and mixture splatterd everywhere. Complained to Russell Hobbs who really were not interested, saying they didn't do that model anymore. I continued to complain until they gave in and I had to return the mixer only by second class post which they insisted on but the post office said it was too heavy for that and I had to return it by parcel post. I am still awaiting a reply from Russell Hobbs to say if they will refund monies and postage. I will never deal with them again. I only wish I had returned it straight away to amazon, as a pensioner £[...] is much to lose out on.
