Looks good and feels solid. However the lid shutting mechanism is very poor and the lid frequently springs open when tilting to pour. This leaves a chance of boiling water all over you. I returned mine and bought a breville lightning.

I bought this kettle in September and within weeks the black coating starting chipping off. Just recently the red cover which covers the light at the bottom has disappeared. I am very disappointed with this kettle. I have always purchased Morphy Richards stainless steel and thought I would have a change. I really regret this now. It works fine for boiling water but looks really tatty and the lid has also worked itself very loose and has started to rust. I am going to contact Russell Hobbs to see if I can to anything about it. Not happy. I have since contacted Amazon who are sending a replacement out immediately. We shall have to see what happens. I would have preferred a different kettle altogether.

Beautifully Finished, well made, but difficult to tell how much water is in it as the viewing window is hidden behind the handle and is not illuminated

POOR DESIGN
The 'on' indicating light can only be seen from one side, steam pours out of the spout and steams the lid up, just pour design for Russell Hobbs.
