Product Description

Product Description

The new You Are What You Eat by Russell Hobbs Slow Cooker is the latest addition to the popular You Are What You Eat by Russell Hobbs range of products and is the perfect kitchen appliance for the lifestyles we are leading in the 21st century.

With healthy eating a top priority for many people, the gentle cooking action of using the You Are What You Eat by Russell Hobbs Slow Cooker will help reduce damage to vitamins during the cooking process and will ultimately retain more vitamins and minerals in food.
Furthermore, with the current energy price rises, cooking with the slow cooker uses considerably less power than using a conventional hob, helping to trim those ever increasing utility bills.

With a 3.5litre capacity, its oval shape makes it ideal for cooking a joint of meat, although the culinary delights you can create don’t end there. Supplied with a glossy recipe book containing a variety of mouth-watering dishes, you can literally make anything from starters to desserts in one economical countertop unit.

A further benefit of using the new You Are What You Eat by Russell Hobbs Slow Cooker, is that the long slow cooking process can tenderise tougher cuts of meat into delicious mouthfuls, just the thing for anyone looking to create a gourmet meal on a budget.

With a choice of low, high and auto power settings, you can start the slow cooker before you leave for work and return home to a fully cooked meal. Just imagine the feeling of arriving home in the evening to the warm aroma of your meal waiting to be served

Further features of the You Are What You Eat by Russell Hobbs Slow Cooker include a dishwasher safe removable crock pot for easy cleaning and a tempered glass lid to allow you to view the cooking process.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great for soups, stews and pies!, 10 Dec 2007
By Deansy (London, UK) - See all my reviews
Bought this, on a recommendation from Which magazine, who suggested it was the most compact they tested, and one of the only ones to have an auto cook feature, which we have found works well for stews and soups.
Its not amazing to look at, just plain white and the ceramic is ordinary quality but I think this is the same of all slow cookers which have remained a bit old fashioned. Great for soups, stews, pies and lovely to make a melt in the mouth slow cooked chicken! Mmmm. A highly recommended addition to the kitchen, especially if you like to get maximum flavour out of ordinary ingredients!

4.0 out of 5 stars good but, 17 Jan 2009

Only one problem, the cable is too short (penny-pinching) & I have to put it on a biscuit tin to reach the socket. At least it has an Auto setting, main reason I bought it (most don't).

4.0 out of 5 stars Slow cooker, 12 Jul 2009
By L. W. Slee "Marleon" (Purton,Wilts. England) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
We bought the slow cooker as a replacement for one that was over twenty years old. We liked the shape, colour and the glass lid to enable viewing of the contents without removal and letting the heat out. It works very well and it is easy to produce an excellent meal using the cheaper cuts of meat, these often have the most flavour. The only thing we did not like about it was the handle on the lid. It was made of plastic and it cracked. We wanted to buy a new handle but were only offered a complete (expensive) new lid. A trip to the local hardware store and we bought a drawer handle for a few pence. We think it is better and more attractive than the original.
