Electric Hob Review 30 April 2009
    By A Customer
Same comments as before, after a few months use the knobs disintegrated, this product is total rubish - Amazon - please get rid of this product.

    Complete Junk 11 Oct 2008
My 82-year old mother has had 2 of these units, the first of which within a few weeks had all the knob markings disappear. A few weeks later the knobs themselves started disintegrating. A replacement arrived with one of the ring warning lights not working. Within a few weeks again, the knob markings again disappeared, followed a short time later by one of the knobs breaking up again.

This unit doesn't get heavy use, and hasn't had any aggressive cleaners used on it, but its quality is so poor that it can't stand normal light use.

Interestingly, the manufacturers ARE aware of these problems, as they supplied replacement knobs FOC and without question. Unfortunately, unless you have access to special keyed screwdrivers, these can't be fitted.

It seems that I can't give 0 stars, so as this will show with 1 star, take it that it's not even worth that.

    Utter Rubbish 1 Mar 2009
I completely agree with the previous reviewer. We had a previous model of this item in white and it lasted for years. Wisely we kept it; the only problem was a wonky cable. The new Russell Hobbs double boiling ring arrived at the start of November, and by the end of February it had broken in the same way as previously described. It also takes forever to heat up and goes off the boil very quickly. It took at least five minutes more to cook anything than on the older model. After four months, we're going to dump this and buy something else. The worst thing? We saw it in a electrical goods shop window in Tenterden, Kent last week for £89.99! This ought not to be stocked by Amazon, it's so bad!
