Very useful for the Elderly!,

These highly attractive electric mills have been perfect for my mother who is a mad keen cook but is hampered by arthritis in her hands. Pressing the button and getting the mill to do the job has been a really great help for her. Also, the added advantage of the illumination has helped with her eyesight also.
They are very well built and are very adjustable as to the fineness of the grind. Mum keeps coriander seeds in one and black peppercorns in the other - perfect - we will be purchasing more of them for other hard spices in the near future.

I've had this set since July 2009, that's 15 months. They work well and do a good job.
On the salt container, one of the 3 plastic lugs that hold the thing together has cracked and broken. It still holds together with the other 2 but I can see some tape being needed before too long. The metal cover to the button also on the salt grinder has needed glueing back on today (prompting this review). It seems that now the year is up they are starting to fall apart. A shame as they actually do a very good job. There are only 2 of us in the house so they don't exactly get used to death. In addition, someone hasn't taken into account the effect of salt on the electrical contacts connecting the lamb in the lower half to the connectors in the motor/battery section. Over time the presence of salt has corroded one of the contacts meaning the light doesn't work. Of coarse, you cannot use the likes of WD40 here, unless you like unusually oily food.

We've now had these mills for two years and contrary to other reviews I've seen, we've only changed the batteries once in that time. The are in daily use and would now be difficult to live without.
Only downer at the moment is that the connections to the lamp in the salt mill have become corroded (the nature of salt on metal)and the light no longer works.
