Manufacturer's Description

The Russell Hobbs brand has been synonymous with quality, style and innovation for over fifty years.
Founded in 1952 by Bill Russell and Peter Hobbs, the brand has led the way by introducing products which offer real consumer benefits and technological advancements.
Such is the strength of the Russell Hobbs brand, it is recognised by nine out of ten consumers as a leading small kitchen appliance brand in the UK and has won numerous awards and product accreditations by leading institutes.

For people who enjoy the taste of real fresh coffee, the Russell Hobbs Classic Satin Coffee Grinder is the perfect accessory for producing delicious ground coffee for use in your filter coffee maker.
The Russell Hobbs Classic Satin Coffee Grinder, is conveniently compact and features stainless steel brushed housing, an adjustable grind control for fine, medium and coarse grain, to achieve your perfect type of coffee. An electronic timer selects the correct milling time for the quantity and type of coffee, allowing 1-6 cups to be milled. This works by using the cup selector switch, which activates the timer and selects the correct milling time. The secret to retain the flavour is not to leave the beans out for more than an hour and store in the fridge if necessary.
For easy cleaning, the bean and coffee containers can be easily removed and washed in warm soapy water, while the body can be wiped down with a soft damp cloth.

The Russell Hobbs Classic Satin Coffee Grinder is an ideal choice or gift for all coffee lovers who enjoy fresh ground coffee.

1.0 out of 5 stars Don't buy, 9 Mar 2006
By A Customer
We're now on our 4th grinder, the previous 3 being returned through faults.

First one lasted approx 3 months before we found plastic granules in with the coffee - a plastic tab in the top of the grinder had come away and fallen in the blades.

The second one started to blow coffee granules out of the vents at the bottom so that went back.

The third one had a fault where the rubber connection to the plastic bin didn't fit too well. I could live with that but on the fifth time of using it suffered the same fault as the first with plastic granules appearing in the coffee.

For all that it seems to grind coffee OK!

In summary - don't waste your money.on this grinder. It's not fit for purpose.

4.0 out of 5 stars Tweakable Grinder can produce fine grounds, 3 Feb 2005
By A. Saunders (UK) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
This model has its faults, but if you are prepared to unscrew its setting ring and twist its setting wheel a quarter of a turn clockwise it will produce fine espresso grounds worthy of a machine 4 times its price.

It has some silly design flaws though: coffee hod which comes off creating a mess of scattered beans if you pick it up at the most prominent point; a coffee grounds holder which is poorly shaped for pouring and a square outlet which defies gravity by being horizontal and therefore holds on to spent beans and clogs.

To be fair most of these faults are true of similarly priced models which can't be adjusted for extra fine grind. The stainless cladding is simply decorative but makes the product appear to be more expensive. The bean hod is nearly airtight but a little on the small side.

Overall, if you're prepared to open this up and turn the wheel this is the only cheap grinder which can produce powder fine espresso grounds. Buy it or pay much much more.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good Coffee Mill made Better, 13 Feb 2006
By A Customer
Just delivered today and having read the "tweakable" reviews, I was interested to see what it would do before making any adjustments. On its finest setting it was comparable to my hand grinder which I felt needed to be finer, so I followed the tweaking advice and it is now very good. Two words of advice. 1- mark the original position on the ring and body with a pencil in case you want to return to the original position. 2- the screwdriver blade to insert into the 3 slots on top needs to be about 1 1/2 mm wide and is just inserted straight into the gap. No need to twist - just push through until you feel the catch release. About 25 mm of extra movement on the ring is all that is needed to get a finer grind. AT YOUR OWN RISK though.
