1.0 out of 5 stars A pile of junk. The turkey of the coffe making world., 4 Aug 2005

This is without doubt, the worst coffee maker I have ever come across. At best it produces a tepid cup of coffee and, when it decides to run even more slowly than normal, you can expect an even colder cup. Invest in a decent cafetiere instead and save your money.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good value for money, 5 Mar 2004
By Sharon (Great Britain) - See all my reviews
A great idea for a cup of tea before getting out of bed! I found it best to use bottled water, this avoids any nasty tastes. It does need to be on a very level surface for the cups to fill up evenly but once level there's no problem. Have only used it for tea and am very pleased with it. It seems to fill the cups up within a couple of minutes which gives you just enough time to wake up before your morning cuppa.

1.0 out of 5 stars A waste of money!, 25 Feb 2004
By A Customer
I bought this as a gift for my husband, he takes a hot drink when he leaves each morning and this seemed like an ideal product, however:

The cups do not fill up evenly and sometimes one side comes very close to overflowing and the other is only half full.

When the machine is first switched on the water that is filtered through is still cold. It helps to let a cup of water run through before filtering your coffee, but this is a pain when you are rushing to get out on time in the morning and really defeats the idea of having a machine primed to do the job.

The lids are not very commuter safe - they leak, they don't keep the drink hot (it is usually cold by the time my husband gets to his train)and they are not very pleasant to drink from either, the plastic leaves an unpleasant after taste.

I would recommend spending the money on a good commuter cup and getting up five minutes earlier to boil the kettle for your morning beverage!
