Espresso and Cappuccino remains one of the most popular choices among consumers and now, thanks to the new Russell Hobbs Classic Satin Espresso Maker (Model No. 10444), you can make delicious cups of espresso or cappuccino coffee, whenever you want.

The new Russell Hobbs Classic Satin Espresso Maker is designed in a stylish satin finish and will co-ordinate with other items from the Russell Hobbs Classic Satin Range. Its streamlined good looks and high performance, will make it a popular addition to any kitchen.

Up to four cups of espresso can be made, with the new Satin Espresso Maker, or if you prefer, why not make a mouth-watering cup of cappuccino.

Cappuccino, is made by topping cups of espresso with hot frothy milk. It may then be sprinkled with powdered cinnamon, nutmeg or chocolate. Use the milk frother to force steam through cold, flat milk to convert it into hot frothy milk and add to the espresso. Alternatively, the milk frother will make hot milk, ideal for those who like hot milk mixed with coffee, or ideal as a bedtime drink.

An easy to use dial located on the top of the machine, controls the espresso and cappuccino functions, together with a variable steam control. The dial will also switch the machine on or off. Neon lights indicate which function is in operation and a coffee scoop with flat base is supplied for tamping down coffee grounds.

For easy cleaning, the filter, filter holder, milk frother, drip tray and cover, can all be easily removed and washed in warm soapy water, while the body can be wiped down with a soft damp cloth.

Please note that I did not purchase this item from Amazon but from a UK store within the last year. For the price I paid, the machine was fine but a word of warning regarding this item. Attaching the coffee/filter holder to the machine is tricky at first but you do get used to it. Having had no problems with the machine for nearly a year, one day the coffee/filter holder came detached from the machine whilst the water was being pressured through. On this occassion, the force smashed the glass holder underneath, send boiling coffee everywhere. Thankfully, no one was next to the appliance. A new holder was purchased but within a couple of months exactly the same thing happened. I could see the handle of the filter slowly releasing but before I could reach it, the same thing happened, sending boiling coffee everywhere. I certainly don't think it was a case of not tightening the filter enough because only my husband used the appliance, so definately not light handed. Apart from the mess it made, I think you need peace of mind when using an appliance like this, so I should have disposed of the appliance after the first incident. Sorry, just felt I should relay a word of warning. It might stop someone being injured.

I am afraid I was disappointed with my recent purchase of this espresso maker (which also has the facility to make Cappuccinos-of a sort.)
First-its good points:-
.a sleek and attractive design in black and silver.
.it takes up very little room on a work surface.
.it is cheap.
However, I found it tricky to use (although the accompanying instructions are clear).
The main difficulty was in fitting the 'filter holder'. I found it near impossible to align the filter holder handle with the left arrow on the front of the espresso maker so that the lugs neatly engaged and it could be turned to the right to lock.If this is not done correctly, the carafe will not 'slide'(!) underneath-at least not with its lid on!
Once in action,the machine seemed to push out a lot more steam than I expected. I'm not sure whether this is normal-or dangerous!
I decided to try a couple of Cappuccinos,which entailed filling your own jug with cold milk and putting it under the steam nozzle.However, having carefully followed instructions not to overfill the tank with water, there was not enough to produce a good head of steam for froth and the result was flat,cool coffee.
In summing up,I should probably have spent more on a decent maker but this was the result of a £20 gift certificate. I shall carry on experimenting with it. I think it will be O.K. for espressos-but not very good for Cappuccinos.
The service from Amazon was,however, excellent. My purchase arrived earlier than expected and I was able to track it all the way.

I thought this was incredible for under 15 quid.I used to run a high street coffee shop so i know how to make proper coffee.

You need to know what your doing with this thing so get some practice. So far I have enjoyed Latte, Mocha and Hot Chocolate.

The steam arm could be longer as it is gonna be difficult to find a jug the right size to use with it!
