Love the idea but think it needs some refinement yet. As the above post says the most annoying thing is that you cannot reboil the kettle for a certain length of time after it has boiled which means unless you are standing over it you do not get just boiled water for drinks. It does keep the water very hot for a longtime which is good. The lid has to be taken off each time to fill it which is annoying and the pouring action is really bad too - plus the kettle is HEAVY! Sorry, not alot of good points there, it does look good!

I originally reviewed this kettle after a couple day's use and was generally quite pleased with it. It's still an okay design in my view but I have a big problem with the taste of the boiled water. It's tainted with a strong chemical taste. I started using the kettle at the beginning of October 2007 and now at the end of December 2007, and after using the kettle several times a day the bad taste remains. I contacted Russell Hobbs who advised to boil the kettle with Bicarbonate of Soda which I have done several times to no avail. I see that another reviewer has noticed the same problem. We have got to the point where we are going to buy a different kettle. My advice, don't waste your money.

Boils slightly noisy but the most annoying shortcoming is the ability to reboil. In my view the thermostat is too sensitive and even up to an hour later you still can't get the switch to stay on to boil the water again. Its build quality seems OK but I have some doubts over the lid which sits in lugs on either side of the kettle top. I expect the plastic lugs to wear with use and then will become loose and inefficient.
