I bought this CD as I really enjoy the Mashup series of albums, and as I jog too I thought this would be perfect. And for the most part, this is the case. There are some great tracks in here, mashed in the Cut Up Boys' unique style. Some of the blends work better than others, but that's always been the case with the series (especially when they speed up a classic house vocal to layer it over a faster trance track - I don't think that works well but that's just me)
But, and this is a big but, would have it been too difficult to include some new or different songs in this? Do we really need "Whoomp, there it is" YET again? The Outhere Brothers? Master of Ceremonies? "Can't get enough" by Soulsearcher? "Last Night a DJ saved my life"? AGAIN! A good number of these songs have appeared on previous Mashup CDs and any collectors of the series will probably find themselves skipping to the next one. There's 30 years of amazing dance music out there they could have chosen from but they've just picked the same songs we've all heard 100s of times before and put a "Running Trax" logo on. Also there's a few covers on here too - why not include the original?
For someone not familiar with the mashup series I would recommend it, and it IS good to run to, but for collectors of the series like me, I'd think twice before purchase.
