Although this normally wouldn't be a 5 star qualifying book for me, I loved this little book jam packed with a ton of useful pieces of information. My only wish is that I would have read it BEFORE starting my running routine. This book covers THE BASICS of all points of running. Obviously for more dedicated runners, there are more detailed books out there. But, IMHO, for the price and the audience, this book was right on target! Greatest line of the book.."When you begin running, you will be using muscles you never knew you had." Boy can I attest to that!!

I learned quite a few new things from this book. I've always been active although not a fitness aficionado but reading about different shoes, fabrics even bras was interesting, especially since I usually buy the same shoes and clothing as my spouse, which is stupid as I have a completely different foot and body type. Another point I found interesting was the motivation chapter. Why are you running? And be more specific than, to be healthy or to lose weight.
