5.0 out of 5 stars To Good 3 Nov 2001
Format:Audio CD
The second album, again Vertical Horizon continue to produce 100% quality songs. Running on ice is by far their best album the highlights being "The man who would be santa" and "call it even" who am i kidding the whole album is fantastic. Unlike their first album this has more of a rock sound to it as Matt Scannell has introduced more of his electric guitar talents. Definatly the best album. It's a winner.

Format:Audio CD
Vertical Horizon are apparently huge in the US with their current album, and if you like that, you should probably like this. The album is a bit softer than the new one and sounds like it was recorded in a garage (which it probably was).
I first heard this album when a friend lent it to me and I had to buy it straight away. Highlights on the album are Wash Away, The man who would be santa and the touching Angel without wings and Goodnight my friend.
If you don't mind "semi-folk rock", you should love this.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Vertical Horizon album? 26 May 2003
Format:Audio CD
I have all three Vertical Horizon releases and find this to be the most satisfying. VH have developed from country/folk roots into alternative rockers. However the transition has been interesting. While their first album was not really to my taste (it is basically country/folk) their second album is like a fusion of acoustic rock and country. Although I say it is a fusion of those two genres it is heavily leaning on the country side of the mixture. The songs are dense and possess good lyrics and melodies.
My favourite track is "Heart In Hand" which I rank among my favourite tracks of all albums. Other tracks worthy of special note are "The Man Who Would Be Santa", "Sunrays and Saturdays".
The singer has a warm voice (the main singer, as the other band members contribute on certain tracks) and overall the album is a great chill out or driving album.

3.0 out of 5 stars The humble beginnings of rock stars 28 Dec 2000
Format:Audio CD
Vertical Horizon are now a stadium rock act (well in the US anyway), but this is where it all began. The duo of Matthew Scannell and Keith Kane demonstrate on this album why they are so successful now. This CD is essentially folk pop but with great, tight acoustic guitar playing and amazing vocal harmonies.
Don't let the badge of folk pop put you off, the album has some great songs on it and Heart In Hand and Famous are well worth a listen. This CD is a must purchase for all VH fans - this CD shows us all where they have come from.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent album 11 Nov 2013
Format:MP3 Download
Definitely worth a purchase and a steal at just over 5

If you like country fused rock then this is a perfect album...didn't realise that there were follow ups to Everything you Want as they're not well publicized in the UK, but this is even better than that...very happy with this and will fulfill their back catalogue as a result
