Book Description

Daisy Davenport has it all - stunning looks, spectacular house, seriously gorgeous boyfriend.

But when her father is sent to jail for corruption, Daisy's life is shattered. Cramped into rooms above a kebab shop, she and her family have to readjust - fast.

And if life isn't hard enough already, Daisy's new school is a world away from her old one. And the school bully is going to make sure she remembers it ...

Product Description

A humorous, light-hearted story with funny, real and SHALLOW characters (Taking the Plunge). A must read! (Hannah, 12, Chicklish website)

Electra is a really likeable character with a great outlook on life. She feels very believable, and even though she still worries about the shallow things in life, the larger things also get to her. (Write Away website)

One for all teenage girls to read (Out of My Depth). I highly recommend it! (Kirsty Scard, Waterstone's, Alton)

"We love her!" (Mizz on Electra Brown)

A very good read. (Bookbag)

Light, glossy and generously sprinkled with wry humour. (Books For Keeps)

[an] enjoyable blend of humour and moral message. (Carousel)

Book Description

A blisteringly funny riches-to-rags story from the one and only Helen Bailey.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good and fun! 29 Jun. 2011
I just finished reading Running in Heels. The book is excellent after you just get into it. My first time reading a book by Helen Bailey. I really recommend it if you need some glamour into your normal school-life. It's a fun and easy read - for you who like to finish a book fast. For me, the book was exactly like watching a movie; the way it's described, makes it very easy to picture the different scenes.
Hope you enjoy reading it.

2.0 out of 5 stars quite a funny story BUT 9 Jun. 2015
This is quite fun to read, plot wise but has one terrible flaw. Daisy Davenport isn't really a sympathetic character. She is almost as nasty as her friend Mia. Yeah both the girls have crazy difficult home lives it turns out, but that doesn't justify the evil remarks that Daisy and Mia make about people especially Polly and Melanie. I'm the last person to say anyone deserves bullying but Daisy didn't help herself by being unkind about Melanie`s weight. I accept that teenagers are insecure but as a larger lady (in her 30s who likes to dip back into Young Adult novels now and again) I find young peoples` attitudes towards chubby people shallow and cruel. And its getting worse. So no, although I couldn't help feeling bad for Daisy and Mia`s family problems I didn't like either of these shallow insensitive young ladies. Why can't those who write for teenage girls just for once have a heroine who isn't shallow, spoilt, bitchy and selfish? Ughhh
