Album Description
Former UB40 frontman Ali Campbell's 'Running Free' LP takesa distinctly collaborative approach, featuring guest appearances from a whole host of pop talent. Lemar, Smokey Robinson, Katie Melua and Beverly Knight all lend their services to Campbell's reggae-flavoured songs, co-written with Brian Travers. Whilst staying close to his roots in reggae, Campbell manages to make 'Running Free' a contemporary exploration of the genre, thanks to his reliance on collaborating with such an array of artists.

Format:Audio CD
Fantastic album from the UB40 frontman. Excellent choice of guests and great songs. Good cover songs, Hold me Tight, Would I lie to you, Devoted to you and Village Ghetto Land. Good songs by Ali as well. When will this Brummie get the recognition he so rightly deserves? Not forgetting the UB's either!

This is a must for any reggae lover. The sweet voice of Ali Campbell shines through and the many guests who he has on this CD makes it a wonderfull listen for all fans of reggae. Very Highly Recommended *****

I bought this CD as I do like the UB's and Ali's voice. The choice of music is good and the voice is just as good as ever, but on reflection, he should never have gone solo. He is nowhere near as good alone.
Doubt I will be buying another. Shame.

A legend that is the voice of Reggee
Ali Campbell needs no gimmicks this album had me and my daughter dancing and singing for hours... great tunes by the legendary voice of UB40, pure genius. Reggee-ards Tina

Love this album - it has a fantastic party vibe - amazing guest artists and went top ten in the UK charts ..... fantastic !

Really Disappointing
I so loved Ali's voice when he was with UB40, but this sounds like he got a group of studio musicians in a room and said "could ya all try to play like UB40" Doesn't work at all!!

We love this album. Feel it is better than Big Love. Great variety. And some great artists that get forgotten along the way. There is something for everyone on this album. Read more

Fantastic
This is a great album with 14 fantastic songs. If you like UB40 then definetely buy this album. I think Ali may be better on his own than with UB40. Read more
