Tommy Victor (he basically is Prong at this stage) deserves a lot of respect for surviving so long in a music industry seemingly indifferent to his efforts - the funny thing is that almost all magazines & musicians who mention him always say that he deserves respect, and that Prong are great unsung heroes, but somehow they always seem to stay that way - no matter how many people cover Snap Your Fingers! Hopefully this album should pull in a lot of new fans, as it is full of great metal songs from start to finish and is the second great Prong record in a row - following on from Carved Into Stone. I have been listening to this for a week now and it did initially take a few listens to get into the sound, which has moved into a slightly more melodic groove that the last album with the vocal lines being more prominent - but once you have got the riffs &the melodies dialled in - you can't stop singing along - there are so many tracks on here that are winners I wont bother to pick out individuals! My only gripe - and it's a small one is that the drums are a bit over produced, it's a shame that Alexei couldn't be on the stool for this one, but I think there was a combination of circumstance & finance that ended with tommy using programming (something that lot's of bands do in the studio - even if they don't admit it) - the drums sound good, just a bit lacking in natural sounding dynamics sometimes. Anyway - this is a great album that will keep your mood pumped and positive from start to finish - if you are a fan of previous records, then it is no question, get it. And if you are new to Prong - get it, and get Carved into Stone too (Then go back and get Cleansing). CORRECTION - I just read in an interview that Chris Collier played the drums in the studio as well as the bass, so it is a live kit on the record, my mistake. In a strange way that improves my listening enjoyment, knowing for sure it is a live kit & not programmed.

It has only been around two years or more since the previous PRONG album, and here Tommy knocks out another so quick. Now you might think having come so soon that it might actually be pretty poor or weak in quality, if it was rush for some reason.
Do not fear about that. No, here we see PRONG back fast and heavy, extremely focused and super powerful. It is possibly better than the last album, which was sadly underrated, and better than some of their others. As some have already stated, it is almost possibly up there at the magnificent level of excellence of their strongest album from the early 90's -Cleansing.
This album hardly lets up for a minute. It is mostly full on fast, riffing, twisting mosh anthems, some of it sounding very thrash, even some black metal/death metal riffs hidden in there. This is mighty metal, brutal and stunning, for those wondering where the fun and energy has gone.
For fans of Metallica, Anthrax, Megadeth, Testament, Slipknot, fantastic metal and fantastic riffs. Be amazed.
