Memories ah memories, this Ealing comedy will bring it all back for people of a certain age (me included).The film concerns two Welsh coal miners who win a competition and have to go to London and collect their prize,does it go smooth,does it heck.The film was made in 1949 when Britain was at it's lowest ebb a lot of it was shot on the streets of London at that time,it makes good social history.
This fast paced comedy is a tribute to Ealing Studio's,and is well worth purchasing.

My favourite Ealing film, it does "stereotype" us welsh people a little but I find it very funny

Pure nostalgia
A great old film with both naivete and the darker side of life thrown together in this farce, also some views of London as it was.

Run for your money DVD
English stereotype of valleys boyos. A fore runner of "Grand Slam" really. Gentle fun well played. A bit long in the tooth now but worth a look.

Review of DVD purchase
Having waited years for this old film to be produced on a DVD for our area I was overjoyed to find it on Amazon. It was despatched and arrived very quickly and I am over the moon
