4.0 out of 5 stars great suspense romance 31 May 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
an innocent girls gets caught up in a web of decipt involing a corrupt federal bureau and gets handed over to their coldest, most calculating agent to be broken. well written and i could emphatize with why she developed her relationship. the girl / heroine was very strong but believably so. the action was fast paced, though there was a bit too many times the hero/ heroine were loving it up instead of trying to save heir hides. overall a well written page turner and i will read more from this author.

I found this book purely by accident and bought Dangerous Lies as soon as I'd finished. Where are other books by this amazing author?
This is the first book I read by Ms Lucia and I read it in one go. I couldn't put it down.

It's an intelligently written thriller which also happens to be a romance. The story is fast paced, with an intense emotional conflict between an innocent heroine, Jenny Waring, and a tough, clever intelligence officer, Kier McAllister, who freelances for the CIA. His area of expertise lies in 'breaking' a suspect.

The story moves from the USA to Scotland where McAllister takes Jenny to a cottage deep in the wilderness to 'break' her. It's a tight, claustrophobic read at times. Some of the scenes are intense - there's nothing soft and sweet about this romance. Ms Lucia's skill in digging deep into the psyche of the innocent Jenny and hard nosed McAllister is incredibly well written. These characters stayed with me for many days and I can't say that about many stories.

This story is haunting and memorable, especially the scenes where Stockholm Syndrome is explored which made it all the more believable. It's a thrilling read and I highly recommend it.

I enjoyed Dangerous Lies which follows Jenny's brother, Alan and we meet Jenny and Kier again. Another great story. I want more from this author.
