Product Description

Imp, deceiver, villainous mastermind… Rumpelstiltskin’s been called all these names and more, and for the most part, they’re entirely true. But there is more to the brooding, blond haired Adonis than brokering deals for the devil. He’s hiding a terrible, hideous secret. One that threatens to fray the already delicate strands of his sanity and reason. A secret that he’s desperate to make right, to see whole again, and there is no one and nothing that will stand in his way of getting what he wants—no one except a slip of woman with hair like fire and skin like finest porcelain. Something about Shayera Caron calls to the beast inside him and makes him question his motives for the first time in his life.

Shayera Caron is the daughter of the infamous Gerard Caron, former lothario of Kingdom but now a reformed rake and settled husband and father. She can go nowhere in her tiny hamlet without seeing the sneers of women and hearing the murmurings of their disdain for the blood that runs through her veins. Shayera is desperate to get away from the gossiping hens, so when Rumpelstiltskin rides into town, she doesn’t think twice before going wherever he leads. Only thing is Shayera is not as innocent as she might seem, for she hides a secret too. One that will bring the most feared man in all of Kingdom to his knees…

More About the Author

Marie Hall has always held a dangerous fascination for creatures that go bump in the night. And mermaids. And of course fairies. Trolls. Unicorns. Shapeshifters. Vampires. Scottish brogues. Kilts. Beefy arms. Ummm... Bad boys! Especially the sexy ones.

Then the day came she realized apart from the sexy bad boy she married, there'd be no vampires/shapeshifters/mermaids/fairies/or even stinky trolls in her future unless she wrote about them. More often than not she can be found roaming the wild, lush tropical forest she calls her backyard (a.k.a. Hawaii) and day dreaming constantly about her latest project. Her Mad Hatter is the first book of her Kingdom Series.

The cover to the left is book 1 of my full length: Choas Time Series, release date of January 2013. Though if the Mayan Calendar was right and the world's set to end in December, well... then I hope you enjoy the picture!

I have loved this entire series. It was a proper grow-up fairytale. Thought no.7 was a bit iffy but Rumpel's story had me back on track.

5.0 out of 5 stars LilyElement Book Reviews - Rumpel's Prize 2 May 2014
By Melissa Mason - Published on
Format:Kindle Edition
Shayera Caron is hated in her hamlet (think very small village). Rumpelstiltskin comes to collect his due, and escorts Shayera to his place to face a series of tests. The two have that type of relationship where both are in denial of a sorts. Neither wants to admit they like the other so they dance around each other until it it cannot be helped any longer. While it left me slightly frustrated once or twice, the anticipation is what makes the story. Shayera grows to accept not only herself and her powers, but also the bad boy imp that everyone whispers about.

Rumpelstiltskin is someone I thought I wouldn't ever like. We all know his story, so when I got the chance to read MHall's new book, Rumpel's Prize, I couldn't pass it up. MHall has skills, she makes you love the "villains" we all grew up hearing about. Don't go into it thinking it's going to be some imp making a bargain of spinning straw into gold for some girl. Rumpel's Prize is a fresh take that will leave you wanting a bad boy motorcycle rider of your own. I highly suggest the Kingdom series if you haven't read it yet.

5.0 out of 5 stars Marie Hall strikes again! 2 May 2014

This is an amazing book from an even more amazing series! I love the kingdom books, have read them all 3 times now and would not hesitate to pick them up again. For me the first one, Hatters Story, was the best but Rumpel's Price almost knocked it off the pedestal i have put it on. Don't want to say too much but if you like a romance that goes through numerous trial before coming good in the end then buy it and read's a must!

5.0 out of 5 stars Rumpel take me NOW!!!!!!! 2 May 2014

Let just say, I finished this book in ONE day.

I HAD to give this book 5 stars! Not just because I waited patiently on the edge for it, but because this book was AMAAAAAAZING! I love stories that present the man as a devious, heartless cad but later reveals the reason behind it while sowing his true beautiful nature. This book did that and THEN SOME!

Shayera is a young and beautiful girl with a tantalizing secret and Rumpel is the one and only Rumpelstiltskin of legend, broker of life-changing deals. He needs her help, but realizes almost immediately that he needs her love too.

I want Rumpel for my own! He is seriously perfect!

If you like fairy tales, bad boys and strong heroine's this book is for you! Hell if you just like books, this one is for you!Give it a whirl and i PROMISE there will be no disappointment! :3

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Twist on a Familiar Tale 10 May 2014
By creativedeeds - Published on

Well, I certainly have a lot of catching up to do. I’ve only read the first book in Marie Hall’s Kingdom series and here I am reviewing the 8th book in the series. *shakes head* The good news is that even with my lapse, I wasn’t totally lost. The even better news is I now have even more reason to pick up where I left off.

Who knew as an adult I’d fall in love with Rumplestiltskin? The Rumplestiltskin that we were introduced to as children is nothing like Marie Hall’s version. I haven’t read a lot of Fairy Tale based books, but this author seems to be a master at writing grown up versions of these familiar tales. I love her twists and takes on the stories we grew up with.

Shayera and Rumple are fun… when they aren’t totally miserable. They are both broken and cursed and as attracted as they are to each other they know that they can’t be together. They both are holding too many secrets that have the potential to harm each other. Even though the outcome is inevitable, the twists, turns and secrets revealed didn’t make this story predictable at all.

Now that I’ve read Rumple’s Prize I’m not sure what I want to read more. Book 9 kind of continues the story started in Rumple’s Prize (in a round about way) but Book 2, Gerard’s Beauty introduces Shayera’s parents. Or I could just start completely over and do another re-read of Her Mad Hatter… decisions, decisions…. ;
