1.0 out of 5 stars Electro Rap Rubbish of the worst order!!!!, 1 Sep 2006
By L. E. Stacey "lukestacey12" (Portsmouth, Hampshire) - See all my reviews
(TOP 500 REVIEWER)    (REAL NAME)

Robbies rapping at the beginning of Rock DJ was novel as it was new for Robbie and the the song still had a good hook and tune.

This attempt at Electro Rap left me completely baffled!, Robbies rapping on it sounds really bored, contrived and is delivered very unconvincingly (surprising as Robbie has said that this is from his best album ever. The lyrics are also nonsecial. Heres a few lines:

"tk max costs les -yes
Jackson looks a mess - Bless"

"Ok bum rush the show i got high speed dubbing on my stereo and all the tunes in the box are the cherrio"

"I did it like this you did it like that i love it when you double clap clap"

inspired stuff eh?

The whole package sounds like it was created on a synthesiser in Robbies bedroom, and in all fairness as a musician i can replicate this on a good pc and a £250 software package.

Robbie has showed that he can handle a great range of songs from pop to ballards to swing. This move into Electro rap though is very unconvincing and is into a genre too far. Robbie has made a career out of ballard themes, but this is terribly outta place, kinda like if Eminem covered Angels.

Robbie is clearly bored and looking to change music directions. Unfortuantely some people and there voices are best suited to certain genres and just like Elton John would be out of place with Gangsta Rap, so is Robbie and his Stoke accent on this.

I really WANTED to like this and even though im a 25 y.o bloke i like Robbie's stuff, but i feel that if it wasn't for Robbie's star power then this type of amateur bilge (complete with awful video) wouldn't even get airplay. If the rest of the Album is this bad, god help us and the airwaves!

5.0 out of 5 stars Legendary, 1 Sep 2006
Probably the funniest song to ever be released. Pure comedy gold!

At first you'll hate it but when the chorus hits your ears you'll be in awe!

Featuring parodys from all of the 'urban' songs of the last year including Pharrell and Gwen Stefani!

A mockery of modern music that still sounds amazing!

I think this is one of the best songs Robbie's done. It's quirky and different and really upbeat. Am loving it.
