There is enough fun with this big boy to keep you entertained throughout many long, cold winter nights. The format is similar to the original Rubik's cube (this also has 6 sides), but the big difference is that each side has 5x5 coloured squares (made with "high quality vinyl stickers" according to the manufacturer) for you to align, rather than the traditional 3x3. I need to share with you that this larger and more complex arrangement actually makes completion of the cube much harder, but surely that's all part of the fun. A good few hours of persistence should pay off and you should be able to complete this little puzzle (by arranging for each side of the toy to be the same colour) within 6 or 7 months. Now that's excellent entertainment value AND just think of the bragging rights over your frustrated group of friends! This toy comes enclosed in a splendid cardboard box.

I do not understand how anyone else can tolerate this or review it in a positive light.
It is the worst quality Rubik's cube I have ever touched.
Buy an Eastsheen/QJ/V-Cube instead, they may be more expensive and take longer to get here, the turning of each layer in this cube is ridiculously awful.
The size is nice but that's about it. I gave up trying to solve my brother's multiple times, I'd try and do an algorithm but get lost trying to recover from the many lock-ups, and forget which move I was doing or why I was even using it.

For a few weeks now I have had the 3x3x3 Rubik's cube, being able to solve it every time. So i wanted a new challenge, and boy did I get it! You can pretty much throw all the previously learned algorithms out the window, this is a whole new ball game in comparison, yet never the less still very fun yet very frustrating at the same time :P
The 5x5x5 is a little more cumbersome than the 3x3x3. It will take a while to wear it in and sides will be a little reluctant to turn at first. It might even be worth getting some form of lubricant to aide that process. Another good thing to do is sit there for a while rocking the sides back and forth a bit
I do warn you though, you have to have a fair amount of patients to solve this so i recommend you don't get the 5x5x5 as some one first Rubik's cube and that you don't get it for children or some one who can't sit still for more that 5 miutes.
Because this will test you.
