I'm slightly potty about dragonflies ever since one landed on my shirt. It changed the whole direction of my life. My book, The Dragonfly Diaries, tells the story. It's as much a biography as a book about dragonflies.
Dragonflies apart, I'm very serious about the whole business of writing. I have another book already published: Aberfeldy, The History of a Highland Community. And I have a novel, Luc's War, and a children's story, Dorigen, being seriously considered by a publisher. I've also had a dozen short stories published in various magazines, and was Highly commended in the John Muir Trust's Short Story Competition. In short, I'm a trans-genre writer, although I need to speak clearly when I use the phrase.
I'm a travelling enthuse-er for dragonflies, keen to get the message across that dragonflies are beautiful, fascinating and in trouble, and that people can help. I appear regularly at literary festivals and Wildlife Trust, National Trust and RSPB events.
