Vine Customer Review of Free Product ( What's this? )
I never used to make up brushes. Instead I would use a the sponge applicator that came with sets and was quite happy.
However one day a make up artist showed me their potential and I was converted.

Now I do spend quite a lot on gopod brushes- buying from Chanel, estee lauder, space nk etc. I have found good brushes last and make a huge difference. My best investment was a foundation brush which makes my foundation look flawless.
I was very interested to see how these brushes compared.
The brushes come in a handy, compact case which is very good.
Their is a large selection- so good value for money but can be a bit bewildering .

Firstly I tried the foundation brush. It held the liquid foundation well and applied smoothly- so thumbs up. The blusher brush was similar having a good shape for coverage. The eyebrow brush is lethal ! with the comb on it being far too sharp and I never use it.
Overall the brushes have good handles, the hairs stay in place and they have a good selection.
Bad points are I feel some of the brushes are too soft to hold powdered eyeshadow, and somethimes you need a stiffer brush fro aplication. It would also have been good to have an instruction leaflet detailing the brushes and the best way to use them.
Overall a good selection at a good price.

I wouldnt use them to replace my existing brushes but for a gift or If you are on a budget, or havent really used brushes before this would be great.

Vine Customer Review of Free Product ( What's this? )
If like me, your make-up brushes have so far consisted of those that came with the cosmetics you bought, or cheap sets from supermarkets then you will be astonished at the difference when you apply your make-up using professional tools. Firstly, all of these brushes have lovely long handles so you aren't grubbing around with stubby little sponge applicators which eventually fall off! There is a brush for everything in this set and I particularly liked the Concealer brush because if you are a slightly more mature lady then the chances are you will have a bluish tinge at the junction of your nose and the corner of your eye. This can make you look very tired and trying to apply concealer with your finger just doesn't seem to work. If you touch the end of this brush to your concealer very lightly, you will load it just enough to get into this area and virtually blend away any darkness. This is also true of dark shadows under the eyes. It is also gentler to the thin skin under the eyes to use a brush. It is also cost effective too as you will find you need less product. The next brush that impressed me is the Foundation applicator. If you put foundation onto your face with your fingers, the oil from your fingers changes the chemical constituency of the foundation itself and it doesn't apply so well. It is also unhygienic! With this brush all you need to do is to maybe apply a spot of foundation on the back of your hand and then dip the brush into it. You can then apply this directly to your face and blend it in with great ease and you should find that you have no streaks or 'tide' lines.
The Blusher and Powder brushes are big enough not to give you 'Aunt Sally' cheeks (a common mistake which I have made) and the array of different eye brushes should enable you to create whatever look you want.

Verified Purchase
I bought these recently at the reduced price simply because I've been really into online make-up tutorials recently and wanted to have the equipment to do some of those looks myself. When I saw the price these had been lowered to I was very impressed and thought I'd give them a go.

So far (after one use) I'm very pleased. I'm still getting to grips with the set, but I've already managed to create a look that would've been impossible with my old sponge applicators. The brushes are lovely and soft, and work well with my existing make-up (mousse foundation, liquid concealer, Urban Decay eyeshadows). The length of the handles is very handy and they have little labels telling you the individual purposes. I like that the concealer and foundation brushes have flesh-tone bristles which make them much easier to identify when in a hurry. The brow and eyelash combs are a bit harsh, so I'd urge caution when using them, though to be honest, I doubt they'll have much of a place in my routine.

The case itself is fairly well made. It feels a tad cheap, but as long as the brushes feel expensive I don't mind that. In the end, the case will probably end up stained with the bright eyeshadows I use anyway, so I'm not too fussed. I do like that it has a hook, so I could hang it up if I so chose, and I also like that it zips closed, as it means I could travel easily with the case.

These are great, so anyone dithering, buy them now while they're at their low price.

I decided I needed some decent make up brushes to apply my make up as I've recently got back into watching tonnes of tutorial videos on youtube. I previously owned a small set of Ruby and Millie brushes but only had about 5 brushes and needed more variety, so this 12 set seemed like a good starting point.

I'll start by listing the brushes for you, as I am now adding to my collection based on the "model numbers"

Brow/Lash Comb - C511
Concealer - C210
Flat Eyeliner - C450
Foundation - C200
Blush - C110
Angle Shader - C500
Lip - C600
Eye Shader MD - C410
Powder - C100
Smudger - C420
Pointed Liner - C440
Eyebrow - C490

I wish I had known the uses for each of these brushes before I purchased this set. I feel, even though the brushes really are amazing quality, that the current price at Amazon for the Silk Pro 20-Piece Cosmetic Brush Set seems like a better deal to me. I am now having to purchase some more brushes individually which is going to cost me a further £35 for one or two more face brushes and a couple of different sized eye shader/liner brushes.
You'd think there would be plenty of brushes here for someone who initially only had a five piece set but this set just leaves me wanting more! Not in a bad way - just because they are so good. A couple of extra eye shadow brushes would've sealed the 5 star deal for me, but I think the 20 piece set might have been a better idea and certainly slightly better value for money in the long run.
