Another interesting title from Images of War series and another IoW book with same problems as most of the titles in this series suffer from. Un-informative captions and crap quality photos are the biggest problems with this book (and series). Most of the pictures in my copy are blurry, soft and way too light. One must wonder how this publisher keeps on turning out books of such low quality. With little effort this could have been a good read. 4 stars for the selection of photos, 1 star for the quality of photos.

The thought of rare photographs was enough to make me buy this book. Taking into account the age of the photos, the publisher can be forgiven for the poor quality. What can't be forgiven are the numerous mistakes in the captions associated with the photographs, the most glaring being the reference to aircraft being FE2b whereas they are most probably Avro 504! Possibly forgivable for a non-enthusiast is the confusion of Curtis JN4 for the same Avro 504. And so the list goes on.
The only redeeming items are the photographs of 2-seat Sopwith Camel Trainers -although one has to wonder if they are, in fact, what they purport to be!
