Roy Fitzsimmonds was born in Barking, Essex on 5th November, 1954.
He attended Aliburn road primary school until a family move to Ipswich in Suffolk when he was 8 years old.
After attending Gusford primary school and then Chantry high, Roy began training as a Quantity surveyor but quickly gave it up to pursue a career as a graphic designer. When he was 23 he qualified as an art teacher and began a new career that has now spanned over 30 years at Copleston high school in Ipswich where he now teaches ICT.
As well as writing, Roy has been a prolific guitarist in the Eastern region of England for almost 40 years, having worked with many named and recorded artists. He recently recorded a second solo guitar instrumental CD which can be obtained through the cancer charity website: http://www.mayitbe.net
Roy writes for pleasure and enjoys creating highly original and often strange characters to populate his hilarious books which led him to be chosen by the Producers of the new 4-movie fantasy series 'Shadowland - the Legend' to write all 4 movie tie-in novels, published in tandem with the movie's release dates.
A keen modeller, Roy also writes for several leading modelling magazines.
He shares his life now with his new partner, Samantha.
