This is easily chubby's finest release since "thunderb*llocks" and shows that he is the British stand-up tour-de-force. Recent releases have taken the shine off his legend and frankly I didn't feel they were the best examples of his tours. This addresses the balance in some style and was full of end-to-end laughs. It features the usual ones about his wife, weight and Northern life, but throws in some really sharp socially observational humour about the state of the country. He keeps in good humour throughout and my personal favourite bit has to be his tribute tune to his home town. It is near faultless comedy, the only poor bit is the really bad rap at the very beginning which isn't really part of the show and was probably cobbled together in 5 minutes when Chubbs was asked for some front end material. Buy this or better yet, his 40 year box set because I feel this compilation offers his best three shows.

After the operation that took away the threat of cancer from roys throat and a tepid enough last dvd,roy returned here with his latest show and emphasised again that he is far from an old hat in the game of comedy.
He states that this is his best show ever,it isnt,his releases in the 1990s where all better but this is his best in a good while and he looked so happy to be here on this night in his home town,the jokes were solid,the crowd in great voice and altogether this made for a fine time.
He doesnt always hit the nail on the head here and every now and then he goes on a ramble that doesnt take us anywhere but there is a new found confidence and he smiles like he means it,welcome back chubbs,3.5 out of 5.

I wouldn't say that I knew anything about what it takes to be a funny person or to make people smile but then again I wouldnt say I could sell you a cookery book at Christmas!, but then again I aint Roy Chubby Brown, a comic talent if ever there was one. I watched this from beginning to end yesterday morning with my girlfriend who said to me " this guy is the best of the best ", yeh you do say this and that Chubby but your a true comedy F@t BAS@@@D Great!!, I aint stopped laughing since and so aint my neighbours whom ive lent this too 5 stars plus
