Roxio's VideoWave Movie Creator is a great solution for novice videographers looking for a simple and easy way to edit and create video projects. The software eliminates most of the complexities of video editing through an automated approach to video movie creation. VideoWave helps you to save hours on your video editing and to easily turn home videos into movies on DVD or CD.
VideoWave also does a great job of making the video capturing process as simple as possible. Quickly capture video from a camcorder, a capture card or a USB video camera to your hard disk. Once you capture your video, choose from three different editing modes with varying levels of automation--CineMagic, StoryBuilder and the StoryLine Editor. The CineMagic mode offers a bit of design assistance by letting you add songs to your videos, but the actual video editing is automatically performed by CineMagic. CineMagic will then synchronise the edited video with the music and add visual effects and transitions based on your preferences. CineMagic is a great tool to create simple music-video style movie clips.
The StoryBuilder mode is another mode that offers some design assistance by guiding you through the entire movie-making process using event-based theme templates. Customise components such as opening and closing animations and selecting background music. Since StoryBuilder lacks editing tools, don't expect eye-popping results. When you're done with the CineMagic and StoryBuilder modes, use the StoryLine Editor for additional design work. Using the StoryLine Editor gives you greater design control than the other two modes. You can edit or enhance all of the individual elements that make up the movie, and access a set of easy-to-use editing tools, transitions, text overlay, graphic overlay and over a hundred special effects. However, it is extremely difficult and confusing to add effects and audio tracks in this mode, which may turn some users off.
While you won't win any design awards from using VideoWave Movie Creator, the result is more than adequate for home users. If you simply want presentable results in a hurry and don't require any advanced video edits, then this product is recommended. --Rich Ting, Amazon.com

While Downloading from my DV Camera unlike many other pieces of overrated software, VideoWave created scenes from when the camera was stopped and started, no fiddly cutting out video from timelines. This disc downloads quicker than annoying, tedious Windows Movie Maker which speeds up your videos to a squeaky level of sound. When I tried out Arcsoft Video Impression I was pleased with it but you couldn't even save and start editing again. When you start editing on VideoWave just drag the scenes into a time line, add text, boarders, special effects, transitions, everything! If you don't like part of a scene, but you'll love all scenes because if anything goes wrong when you film all you do is stop recording and start again, another scene is created with VideoWave. But the chances are in one scene you'll have noticed a nose picker only when you play it back. Don't worry Roxio have made it easy for you as well. With the simple `Play, stop, cut` system it can be done in seconds! Save your work and come back to it later if you like or show your friends your HollyWood home movies on DVD which you can put your movies on (optional). THATS FIVE STAR SOFTWARE!

This piece of video editing software is a must for all fans of movie-making such as myself. Not only were the services it provided helpful but it definately topped any of the other video wave products. It helps if you own at least one of the other video wave software packages so you are more used to operating the software but the guidelines provided also helped a great deal. Thumbs Up! The amount of changes you can make with this package to your films are unlimited, I would definately recommend!

This software package is evrything any young or old movie making wannabe should own! Helpful, amazingly fast, easy to use and raises the bar on how much you can do to your home videos, movie making has never been so easy and fun to do.Also with most packages you are registered except this one advances ur version to a higher degree, making ur movies look and sound much better than ones straight from a camcorder. A must have for all families with a pc and camcorder of their own. In a word - great. In two words - greatly great!
