I started with MyDVD version 6 when it was Sonic which worked fine on Windows XP. I then upgraded to Sony Movie Studio which is not the easiest to work with. Moving forward to Roxio Creator 2009 I found a lot easier which worked on Vista but not Windows 7. Not wanting to go back to Sony Movie Studio I upgraded to Roxio Creator 2010 which does work on Windows 7.
I find Roxio screens easy to follow and will cover all of your CD Audio and DVD needs. There is a good help system on Roxio's web site as I needed to rotate a video through 90 degrees.
Basically well thought out screens to get you going, lots of options to give you a good quality DVD of your movies.

I received this product after reading a lot of negative reviews, (to make up my own mind). I had baught a new lap-top with windows 7, and a cut down version was already installed. When I put it on it just did not work. I sent it back and got a replacement copy. This copy was the same, it just would not work! I then took off all the programmes that I normally use and did a "back to factory settings" on this lap-top and tried again. It went on with no bother at all. It works well and I am now very pleased with the results. Why don't Roxio tell us that this could happen, they must have done the tests and found this.

This is a programme which, if it had worked, would have given good value for money - the interface is intuitive, there are helpful videos and well-written tutorials, and generally it looks as if it should be easy to learn and use productively. Unfortunately, even after installing the Roxio Service Pack, it basically froze when attempting to close down the application (video editing) I was working with. Although I could force a close with Windows 7, the programme would then freeze at the opening splash screen if I attempted to reopen it. In fact the only way to persuade it to open at all was by restarting Windows 7 - not easy because somehow the software has managed to corrupt the sleep and restart routines in the OS so the only way to turn off the computer was at the plug. There are other reports on the web about teething difficulties with this software and Windows 7 (and Vista too). I have arranged to return the software to Amazon (excellent returns service from them). I'd recommend either waiting for any bugs to be ironed out by Roxio, or taking advantage of Roxio's free trial period before you decide to buy. Good luck!

I like Roxio Creator it is a usful means to convert my cassett tapes and LPs to digital and then onto CDs.
