A detailed account of the sport of rowing, 13 Jan 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: Rowing: Skills of the Game (The skills of the game) (Paperback)
This book is structured well and follows through from the initial introduction to the sport of rowing to possible training programmes and international rowing.
This book is an excellent choice of reading for rowers of all levels. Some chapters are aimed more at novices while other chapters become more technical for the experienced rower.
Slightly different approach to "Steven Redgrave's Complete Book of Rowing", however, all aspects of the sport are discussed from how to put a boat on the water to recommended weight training exercises.
Good diagrams and photographs, well structured with easy to understand, non-technical vocabulary.
One of the "bibles" of the rowing world. Includes recommended rigging facts and figures, a good book to carry in your kit bag for referencing purposes!
