Jon Bon Jovi stars in this drama about an ex-con who finds love while trying to go straight. Now back on the streets after serving time for a crime that his brother committed, Jamey Meadows (Bon Jovi) is finding it hard to put his life back together. With his brother Gil (William Forsythe) trying to bring him back to his former ways, Jamey accepts a job as a census taker to escape the pressure. Doing the rounds one day, he meets, and quickly falls for, the charms of Chinese immigrant Chun Hua (Bai Ling), a woman who has problems of her own. But with their different worlds conspiring to keep them apart, can they finally manage to overcome their problems and find the happiness they desperately crave?

I purchased this film as a fan of Bon Jovi, and thought it was just something else to put in the cupboard. How wrong was i. From the beginning, you forget that Jon Bon Jovi sings and dances in his day job - he is really beliveable as down on his luck Jamey Meadows. Just released from prison he is trying to do the right thing with no job no roof and no money. This is is bitter sweet film with a fantasic ending and not the way you think it's going to be. I would recommend this film to all and everyone - even those that think Bon Jovi can't sing let alone act. A true gem.

Jon Bon Jovi's best film. He proves in this film that he can really act - emotional and well made. A film you can watch over and over again.

Although it's not a masterpiece or a huge budget movie, I think the character Jon Bon Jovi plays is more than enough a reason to check this film out. It's pretty simple but definitely not boring.
