The Roundup XL 5-Litre ready-to-use tough and deep root weedkiller is premixed for easy and effective weed control and starts to work in hours. The ‘pull and spray’ delivery system combines the ability to easily target and treat a large numbers of weeds, with the convenience of being ready to use.
Designed for use on unwanted vegetation, the Roundup XL 5-Litre ready-to-use tough and deep root weedkiller is absorbed by leaves and moves throughout the entire plant, both above and below the ground, to destroy annual and deep-rooted perennial weeds such as grasses, dandelions, docks, bindweed and thistles. It also kills tough and woody weeds such as brambles, thistles, nettles, dock and couch. This product is inactivated immediately on contact with soil and is then broken down by soil micro-organisms, to allow replanting. It is not designed for use on lawns or other wanted plants.

I have used ordinary strength Roundup previously, and it has worked very well. The effect of Roundup XL on weeds is amazing. Within one hour of using Roundup XL the weeds started to wilt and die. By the following day all were dead, and this included even deep rooted weeds. Now several weeks later all trace of the weeds has disappeared. I have already got some more ready to use next Spring, if necessary. I can definitely recommend Roundup XL, if you have a problem with weeds, use it and they will die quickly.

I have recently been using both this featured product, and another Roundup product : Roundup Fast Action Pump 'n' Go 5 Litres Weedkiller
It is a little too early (and not easy) to tell if one is a better weedkiller, or seems to kill roots off better then the other. I may not actually be able to see a difference, but if I can I will post an update. I have treated similar weeds in different areas of my garden with a different product.
However, I definitely see a couple of big difference in convenient and useability.
1. With This product, you pressurise the chemical by pulling a handle/shaft at the base of the wand, until fully extended. Then the chemical is ready to spray. BUT that spray only lasts for about 20 seconds. And you have to do it again.
I suspect that the system is only pressuring up a small volume of weedkiller, eg in the handle/wand itself.
I find this aspect quite inconvenient, as not only do you have to keep repressurising, because it is in the wand, you have raise it away from where you are pointing. (with a more traditional sprayer) you could just hold the wand/sprayer in one hand and keep pumping with the other hand.
However, unlike another reviewer, I did not find it painful or develop blisters.
2. Another issue I found that as I "pump" the handle, I feel a small amount of the product leak in to my skin, seemingly from around the handle you must pump.
This is not good. (Of course I should wear gloves anyway, but I am not happy with a mechaism that leaks, even slightly. When I finish spraying I then need to clean/dry the sprayer - this is not necessary with the other system).... Read more ›

The pump is harder work and in general more tricky than other models including by the same company. Wore gardening gloves from the outset however back and side of my thumb badly blistered with in ten minutes of pumping and spraying. (On the hand holding the yellow spout steady as you pull the white pump at the end of this.)
Recently used the Roundup Fast Action Pump 'n' Go 5 Litres Weedkiller, of which the pump is located at the top of the product/bottle, this was a far easier action and I did not blister over the 30 minutes or so I was using it. So would probably recommend this instead or similar product design. Is listed a fair bit cheaper as well.
I'd purchased this one due to tackling area with some bramble next and thought it would be better formula for my need. Was happy with the previous ones action on expansive and established weeds over waist height, died down quickly however did need retreating, but I'd expect this due to having been left for years.
Wish I'd just gone with the same and given it a go.

Its reasonably effective at keeping ragwort at bay. We were quite widespread and it lasted for 2 months spraying each fortnight. Takes several goes as its obviously not as strong as the dedicated ragwort spray but the great thing is the horses can go straight onto the paddock unlike the stronger chemicals.
All in all I reccommend d but if you can close your paddock then buy the strong stuff

This is ok, it works to an extent not as good as it makes out to be but not bad, wouldnt us it again for brambles etc but ok for general stuff
