Product Description

Five episodes of the Australian children's series. In 'Skeleton on the Dunny', the Twists arrive at their new lighthouse home only to discover that the toilet is haunted. 'Birdsdo' sees the Gribbles attempting to have Nell committed as insane, while in 'A Good Tip for Ghosts', the Gribbles set a gruesome test for new boy Pete. In 'The Cabbage Patch Fib', Bronson is told that babies come from the cabbage patch, and discovers one there himself. 'Spaghetti Pig Out' sees the remote control at the lighthouse starting to work on people after it is struck by lightning.

'Round The Twist' will be remembered by children of all ages as being one of the most imaginative and innovative children's programmes of its generation. It was unlike anything else being shown at the time and inspired such other favourites as 'Alex Mack' which took over the super-natural theme that had been so successful in 'The Twist'. It was at once funny, sinister, strange... but never failed to entertain with its original story lines and likeable characters with whom the audience could easily relate despite the unusual adventures they found themselves caught up in. The series is brought to its conclusion in the last episode, which also offers an explanation for each of the other previous episodes, making this also one of the most intelligent children's programmes of its time. 'Round The Twist' was a unique formula, and succeeded in achieving a unique kind of success in creating a new genre of children's show. It will always be remembered as the first, and best, of its kind.
