Album Description
• A CD release for the very rare Smokey Wilson album recorded for Big Town in the late 70s.
• Wilson was the natural successor to Howling Wolf, with a similarly astonishing voice, who produced some of the finest blues of the 70s. When many were succumbing to the over-processed sounds of the day, Smokey was still down and dirty like good blues ought to be.
• This is the first UK release for Smokey Wilson apart from two tracks that appeared on Lindi Waters’ Cascade blues box.
• Many of the tracks were speeded up in the original mix and these have been restored to the correct tempo of their recording.
• The legendary George ‘Harmonica’ Smith features on several tracks.
• Includes five previously unreleased tracks.

I brought this cd for an elderly friend of mine and he was truly elated. So as long as he's happy, I'm happy. This cd comes from a era that precedes my musical knowledge, but the person that I got it for said the cd was really boppin back in his day. Since I truly respect his opinion, it must have been so.

I'm not sure why there are no reviews here? Oh, wait a minute...in order to listen to this, you must be a natural born soul sender; not many people are. Am I implying that I am? Well, if the boot fits.
Do your ever-lovin' blues-self a favor, roust up song number one with a pint of cold brown ale and picture yourself sidling up to that phillie on the front cover of the album...the gal on the right; she's red hot.
