Excellent guide. 21 July 2011
Format:Paperback
Contains everything you need to know, including many walks and hikes. Like all travel books, prices are out-of-date but you would get these from the internet anyway.

Excellent Guide 21 Jan 2010

As all Rough Guides, this is an excellent source of information. The one thing lacking was any negative feedback. We realized later that was because there is absolutely nothing negative about Yellowstone.

Needs a new edition 17 Jun 2010
By Garmonbozia - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
This book was published in May 2007, and it's definitely time for the release of a new edition. Things change fast, especially regarding dining and lodging. I found differences in hours, seasonal openings, and availability of lodging. That said, it does cover a lot of topics, and was helpful in initally planning a trip to Yellowstone.

Oh, and if you're in Gardiner, Montana, do stop at Helen's Corral Drive In. The guide is right on about that! See the picture of the half pound burger in the 'Things Not to Miss' section.
To the point! 21 Nov 2010

We travelled through several national parks this summer and used the Rough Guide for Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons. It has exactly the right amount and kind of information to help with the planning, whether you are planning the whole trip in advance, or just the next day, or the coming afternoon. Reasonably detailed maps, good hike recommendations and rather correct restaurant descriptions. We always gained something from reading up on a particular area. After the Grand Tetons we continued on the Olympic National Park and wanted to buy the Rough Guide in Seattle - but there is none!
