Format:Map
I bought this because I wanted a map of all of Croatia, not just the coast. The map advertises itself as being at the useful scale of 1:300,000, but nowhere on the cover does it admit that the inland areas around Zagreb and further east are at a scale of only 1:700,000. Naughty!
The map is shaded to distinguish altitudes at 300 m intervals. There is no shading to indicate forest.
If you don't require a map to cover areas away from the coast, I would instead recommend the Marco Polo maps at 1:200,000. There is one of Istria and the Croatian coastline as far as Mostar, and another continuing (overlapping) further south as far as Dubrovnik. These do not indicate altitude except by some artistic shading to indicate mountain ridges, but do indicate forest.
More detailed maps, at least of the coastal regions, are not so hard to come by in Croatia itself.

I bought this map and used it on a touring holiday around the Croatian coast. It is nice and clear to read and easy to fold without worrying about tearing, due to being printed on plastic! The map is good for getting an overview of where places lie and for route planning, but I wouldn't rely on it alone for navigation. For instance, motorway junction numbers aren't shown on the map. Also, a road might be shown to cross the motorway when infact there is a proper junction for getting on/off, so it can be quite misleading.
Overall though a nicely presented map that would be sufficient for most holiday-makers.

A good map from the point of view that it is plasticised and clearly printed. We folded in many different ways in the two weeks that we were there and it is still in good condition. Unfortunately it was not really good enough if you are going to be driving around a lot as there is a lot of missing detail, (e.g. road junctions, roads,etc.) You really need a map in a larger scale. If you are not driving around and don't need the extra detail then the free map from the Croatian Tourist Board is probably good enough.

Excellent map for touring purposes and made with an almost indestructible paper even when wet. Sorry about the pun but we would have been lost without it!
