The Loire Rough Guide,
By
This review is from: The Rough Guide to the Loire (Rough Guide Travel Guides) (Paperback)
Even though this guide was published in 2007 it is still highly relevant. As James McConnachie points out in this excellent and in-depth guide you cant spend all your time in the Loire region just visting Chateaux. Instead this rough guide manages to extract the most out of the Loire region - cycling, the towns, wines, wildlife, history, cathedrals etc. Its all there. Even if you never go its a great read. I would go as far to say that its the best guide book I have ever bought. A big 5 stars from me. And of course there are the lovely chateauxs. Enjoy this wonderful guide.

My wife and I travelled extensively through this region of France and have used this pocket companion heavily. It has pointed us in the right direction and been very useful. A worthwhile purchase. Have a look at "Cool Camping" too if you are wanting camp-site's
