Product Description

Our 60 metre Crank and Lift Rotary Washing line is truly the "Rolls Royce of Rotaries". If you've got a large family or you need a rotary washing line for professional use (hotels etc). This is the one to choose. It features a crank handle lifting mechanism that will lift your washing high enough into the air so that longer items like duvet covers and bed sheets are off the ground (and out of the reach of kids and pets!). NOTE. The handle DOES NOT open or close the arms. The arms are raised manualy like all our other rotary airers. The extra 24cms of "lift" that is provided by the Crank & Lift handle improves the flow of air to your laundry and helps to reduce drying time. Although we've designed this rotary washing line to be used by the average family, it is also robust enough for use in shared community housing complexes, hotels etc (indeed we have many satisfied customers who use this rotary for such purposes). Manufactured from heavy gauge steel, like all our products, it will give you many years of reliable service and comes with a 5 year product guarantee. PLEASE BE AWARE THAT THIS ITEM IS TALL. THE LOWEST LINE IS APPROX 176CM / 5ft 10" FROM GROUND LEVEL. THE HANDLE MECHANISM DOES NOT OPEN AND CLOSE THE ARMS Like all our rotary washing lines, it comes with a FREE ground socket, FREE water resistant zipped rotary washing line cover. Sorry but this item cannot be shipped to Highlands and Islands, I.O.M, N.Ireland, Scilly Isles or Channel islands. Please contact us if unsure.

This is our 2nd one, had one at our old house and its now 12 yrs old & apart from the winder going is as good as new, far superior to the old Line stretched from poles etc. When not in use takes up the space of one Pole, or you can just remove it to let the kids have the full green to play in ( or for grass cutting etc ). Certainly not cheap, you can buy two lighter fixed units at this price. But its like everything else, in some instances you do get what you pay for..:)

We have erected this rotary washing in our garen about 250 yards from the coast in the north of Scotland and so far it seems to be able to cope with our strong winds. I like the line and find it easy to use now that it is erected. I have to agree with others that it is quite heavy and would be cumbersome to keep taking out of the post hole, but as mine will be left in place permanently that won't be a problem for me. I also agree that the line is very high - as I am tall I love it - not often I need to reach up to put washing on a line, however I think shorter people would have a real problem. Because of its height even I am not able to use the free cover as I can't reach to put it on. All that said, I am impressed with it because I have been looking for one for a while and any that I have seen locally cost over £200. Good product - good price - hope it can stand up to our weather for a long time.

FOOTNOTE
We have now had the drier installed for 8 months and it has stood up to all that the winds up here can throw at it. Sometimes it seems to rotate so quickly that it could take off but it seems none the worse for it - brilliant is the only way I can describe it and will surely have another when this one reaches retirement!!

I bought this rotary line direct from 'the home Laundry Company' as after reading all the reviews on Amazon I had a few questions that I wanted answered before I purchased. I must admit that I was impressed with their response and placed an order with them on a Friday morning and was in possession of my new line Monday afternoon.

Due to the bad weather we had to wait untill the following weekend to install the rotary line, once we concreted in the ground socket we then unpacked the rest of the line, and to my disappointment saw that the crank shaft pole had a dent in it, as it was the bank holiday weekend I was unable to contact company until the Tuesday.

I was dreading making the phone call as I expected to be fobbed off with the story that the delivery guys must have done it, or even worse, we had done it ourselves. But on contacting them they were the most helpful company I have ever dealt with, I explained my situation and was told that a new post would be sent out that day. Now this is the Tuesday after a bank holiday, and I received the post the following day. Excellent Customer Service, would definitely recommend and would use again in the future.

As to the rotary line, it is excellent, yes it is high as stated in the description but not a problem for me, I'm 5ft 6. When putting the line cover on, I use a broom handle to help.

Great product. Very strong. The mechanism for cranking and lifting up the rotary works very well and it's very stable in the ground. I can hang and dry all my sheets on this without them touching the ground. Overall, very impressed.

Followed instructions to erect this line only to find it is very tall. Scratched our heads and reread the instructions over and over again, yes we had done it right. The only solution we could come up with is digging the thing out and making the hole deeper so that it is sunken lower than ground level. I can't reach to take the cover off so it will stay as it is until we have another couple of days with nothing better to do. I agree with a previous reviewer about the weight of it too, a little more info would have been useful. By the way the 'metal' spike turned out to be plastic.

After having two rotary washing line this year either bending over completely in the wind .. full of washing.. or the bottom rusting with the same consequences I was at loss of ever finding a strong enough rotary washing line. But I have at last found one that fulfills all my requirements. Although it is rather high when fully erected it is fine for me although someone shorter would struggle and with the help of a small pole I can put the cover over it, which helps to keep it clean. I am more than happy with this product and if it can stand up to winds in Scotland than it will be fine for me in Lincolnshire. Excellent!

Instructions could be more compprehensive. (a good measure of "common sense" required!)
When sinking the plastic (not metal as stated) ground spike be aware the wet cement
can 'oose' up through the hole at the bottom of the spike and then when set, prevent the pole going down
and properly seating.
