This second series of Roswell is the best by far. The characters are more familiar, and the storyline (though at times seeming a little far fetched) develops nicely, tugging at the heartstrings on many occassions. Some of the episodes have evoked tears - I think the high point of the series was when my brother made me rewind the tape in "The End Of The World" just so he could watch one particular scene over and over again. There seems to be more of a general storyline in this series, though there are still many smaller subliners. The end episode ("Departure") is one of my favourites - along with "The End Of The World" and "Cry Your Name", and I think that all three deserve praise for their sensitivity towards the storylines and just for the great standard of acting not seen so much in the previous series.
If you like to watch something which makes you laugh (this certianly does...Kyle's character is explored much more widely, to provide us with some excellent one-liners) and cry, and just want to watch over and over - then you should buy this series. It truely hasn't gained the recognition it deserves.

Great character development here. You can see the strain of the alien message on Max and it gives you exactly what was missing in the first series - answers to questions! Although, on occasion some huge gaps are left unanswered and certainly aren’t followed in series 3. However, this season concentrates heavily on the mythology of the aliens and why they were put on earth in the first place.
Tess gets more annoying than ever in her quest for Max - give it up girl.

At the end of season one, we found out that there were in fact 4 aliens, not 3, along with their protector Nasedo, and we found out why they were here. Not wanting to interfere with Max's destiny, Liz chooses to walk away from the love of her life.

Season 2 starts off with all of them under stress. By contacting their planet in the last season, they have alerted their enemies to their location, meaning aliens in human guise could attack them at any moment.

There are three major plotlines. The first one is dealing with the repercussions of the end of season one, and Liz's attempts to leave Max to his destiny with the fourth alien, his wife Tess. The second one is a v silly storyline involving alien parasites. The final plotline focuses on Max and Tess, and on Liz investigating the death of a major character. Her investigations break the group apart, and we see some great tension between all the characters.

The final episode does rely on a rather weak plot device to help them solve the final mystery and the ending is dramatic but a bit rushed. But the twists and turns in Max and Liz's storyline is great. An improvement on a good first season, with only the second major storyline letting down a near perfect season.

this season brings new challenges and big changes for the gang in roswell. a new enemy comes to town, liz and max completely fall apart and tess gets closer to max. resulting in something nobody saw coming, at least i didnt. micheal learns where home is for him and isabel has some hard decisions ahead. but tragically one of our heros doesnt make it and comes at a time when the aliens have to decide whether to go home or stay .... great stories and a fabulous twist at the end!!!! keeps getting better.

....season 2 is different than the other two. I think the real essence of the show is the relationship between Liz and Max - and when Tess arrived it took away some of the things I loved the most about the show...I think some of the episodes are a little "too much Science fiction", but there are also some really fun episodes here that are great entertainment. Especially the character development of Michael and Maria... So all in all you might cry some and you'll definitely laugh a lot!!
