I won't dwell on why I like the series, as if you're already thinking of buying it, you must like it. So rather than doing so, I'll just talk about the boxset itself.
The DVDs are good and single-sided, with basic but good enough menus. The box just contains the 3 boxes for each season.
All 3 seasons contain French and English spoken languages, as well as subtitles.
There are few extras apart from commentaries, although some episodes like the Pilot have a deleted scene or two, and on the last DVD of the season there is a Behind the Scenes featurette and a couple of other things.
So all in all a pretty good release, if it wasn't for the music: unfortunately, due to Copyright issues, most of the music on these DVDs has been changed compared to the TV broadcasts.
Dido still sings the main theme, which is reprised at the end of the last episode of season 1, but apart from a couple of other songs within the episodes, pretty much all of the songs have been replaced. If you're not a big fan of the series you probably won't know any different, but if you do you may be disappointed.
For example, at the end of an episode which is quite dramatic (won't reveal what not to spoil), it is meant to be "Coldplay - Trouble" playing in the background, but instead it is a boring song made by some small random American band you'll never have heard of...
So that's why this is not getting 5 stars.
