Michael Palin without the television, research, education value, or Michael Palin.
Noble devotees and the unitiated alike will love this offering- his trademark rambling, a kung-fu obsession and a helping of those rather tactless comments we all would make in a foreign country but for the fear that some of the locals speak English. 'Tis a glorious mix of badly-researched travelogue and excerpts from the live performances that the series follows Ross Noble to in China, Singapore, Budapest, South Africa and Ireland. It bears listening to again and again and is not just for mature tastes- it'll eat up the miles on long family drives, or just have it on the background for this pleasant fellows Geordie accent. If y'like that sort of thing.
In these days of the global village, when the romantic days of exploring the true unknown with Professor Challenger, Uncle Lidenbrock and the (less fictitious) Dr Livingstones and Shackletons, it might be argued that the magic has gone from traveling purely for the sake of it- but with comedians like Ross Noble, it's been given a new take- irreverant, fantastically funny and occasioanlly, quite bizzare.
So buy it, and discover duck tongues, donkeys and how far taxis in China'll take ya. All from the comfort of your setee.

I listend to this series on the BBC Website, and have been searching for this series on CD ever since, but to no avail. But I log onto Amazon today and here it is!! This is classic Ross Noble. Absolute comedy genious, the Belgium episode is the funniest with his veiws on a museum made entirely of waffles!!! If ou like this CD dont forget, Ross Noble Goes Global Series 1 and of course his DVD, Unrealtime!

What can I say about this CD? It really is pure class. The fascinating incite into the local cultures of South Africa,Ireland,China and Singapore are funny but at the same time informative. And the little bits of standup wedged inbetween are equally as funny.
I urge anyone with a love of comedy to buy this CD, you will not be disapointed! And if you ever have the chance to see him live, DO IT!! I saw him at the B'ham Alexandria and he was absolutly superb!! I'm sure if a DVD was to be released then it would be equally as successful as this CD.
Unleash the dairy based anger.........

This is an excellent CD. Ross displays his talents as a global tourguide, and he's good at it too! At each location you hear Ross as he wanders round the local area meeting, greeting and sightseeing, interspersed with clips from the shows he did while he was there. As you would expect for someone with an imagination as wild as Ross', his travels do not tend to lead him to the most 'normal' or touristy places, and once you've listened to an episode you will almost feel like a local in that area. Needless to say, the comedy is as quirky and hillarious as ever.
If you need anything more to convince you to buy this CD, you might be interested to know that Danny Wallace (Join Me, How to start your own country) is the producer!
