Don't buy this item if you don't want to have to modify it yourself. The cage only has two fixing points - one on each side, just below the top. When you screw it to the door, the bottom of the cage does not fit tight to the door at the bottom, and letters just fall through the gap. It needs two more fixing lugs at the bottom. I have modified mine myself, but I was not too happy at having to do this, particulary since the other reviews of the cage were so complimentary. So be warned.

This is a great product it works and its easy to fit. The only thing I would say is that you need to check how much space you have behind your door as it can limit how much you can open your front door. Also if large packages get posted the cage will open and the dog eats your post!

I bought this on the strength of aprevious review and I agree with what that reviewer said. Namely, that this is a good product for the price and it does the job for most purposes most of the time. There are occasions when the dog or the post seem to be able to evade the protection of the cage but as I haven't seen this happening I don't how it happens ! But just now and then I find her savaging something that obviously escaped the device. It was easy to install, although I have added an extra couple of screws to hold it in place so that mail can't slip down between the cage and the door. But it is good value for the money.

Design fault?
