3.0 out of 5 stars It's o.k 27 Dec 2012
Watched this over at at my friends house, basically Dr.Sonny Blake(rose mcgowan)who is a psychiatrist and radio talk show host(Talkline)moves back to her home town of stllwater one year after her father's death. When she arrives her boyfriend DA Barrett Tanner helps her move in and she is told by her neighbour that the paperboy(Daniel ross owens)is a bit of a weirdo.Sonny soon discovers that the paperboy has taken a interest in her,he calls her radio station & recites weird nursery rhymes and breaks into her house.Sonny learns the paperboy may have something to do with her father's death, when her boyfriend goes missing she reports it to the police but they don't really take it seriously and so a game of cat and mouse begins. The menacing looks and black iris effects are not really scary & I would'nt describe this as a horror film more of a suspense thriller and I use the word thriller loosely. It's an o.k watch but the ending was dissapointing and a lot of the plot is simillar to 1994's The Paperboy ( The Paper Boy ).6/10

2.0 out of 5 stars Watchable but cliche ridden 14 Mar 2013
A female doctor played by Rose McGowan moves back to a small town and starts being menaced by the local weird paperboy Derek. That's the premise of the movie, and although it's a standard thriller/horror plot it could have been enjoyable, and while it certainly is watchable if falls back on so many cliche's as a previous reviewer has said it becomes a little tedious and repetitive. There are a few familiar faces Lesley-Ann down, Ray Wise and the title star Rose McGowan (who I almost didn't recognise with the surgery she's had on her lips), putting that shallow comment aside they all give decent performances although the material doesn't demand much of them. Overall a very average suspense film with only a couple of good moments in between the seen it all before tedium.

4.0 out of 5 stars HICKORY DICKORY DOC, 24 Jun 2013
By The Movie Guy TOP 500 REVIEWER
Rose McGowen stars as Dr. Sonny Blake a radio talk show psychologist. After the death of her father, she moves back into the family home on Rosewood Lane. She is troubled by past memories of her drunken father (liked JD too much). The neighborhood lives in fear from an evil paper boy (Daniel Ross Owens) on a bicycle. Seriously.

One night when Sonny comes home she realizes her porcelain statues have been moved. She starts to rely on her old boyfriend Barret, (Sonny Marinelli) who she broke up with after he hit on her girl friend. He thinks it is her imagination.

As the movie goes on, things escalate. The neighbors won't help. They believe the paper boy is evil as he has no irises. None of her friends believe her.

Good little horror/thriller. Rose did an excellent job in the lead role.

Parental Guide: No F-bombs, sex, or nudity.

4.0 out of 5 stars All Thorns & no Roses 19 April 2014
Format:Amazon Instant Video
Engaging psychological Thriller with a strong central Character and a couple of useful sub-Plots, including an interesting concluding twist which is actually hinted at very subtly and helps to make sense of some of the supposedly inexplicable Events.

Definitely worth a watch

3.0 out of 5 stars like other comments 1 Aug 2014

like other comments, it was run of the mill.... Ending was disappointing, and there were too many unanswered questions throughout - essentially no motive to anything. Definitely not a Horror, more a tame thriller.

4.0 out of 5 stars Surprisingly very good 18 Jun 2014
Format:Amazon Instant Video
I just love horror thrillers like this and this one didn't disappoint. The only reason why I gave only four stars and not five is because the end was a bit cliché. I don't know why they persist in doing this. The acting was reasonably good and the paperboy really nasty and I love his black eyes. Not over the top like some films tend to be, just enough bloodshed. I watched this on prime time and the quality of the film was good until the latter part of the film were it became slow. I think it is worth a watch, there are a number of films similar to this theme and this one is one of the best.
