Kitty Slade's got phantorama - she can see ghosts - but she's too cool to let it get her down. In fact, life's become much more fun ... Fiona Dunbar, bestselling author of The Truth Cookie (The Lulu Baker Trilogy) (aka Jinx, the TV series), has got a winning formula here - ghost-busting, edgy heroine who is travelling the world in her grandma's caravan 'The Hippo'.

This second of the Kitty Slade mysteries is set in the Hellfire Caves in West Wycombe where Kitty encounters the ghost of MP John Wilkes, mischievous member of the Hellfire Club (go on, look it up). Mr Wilkes may be a historical figure but he sure could use some lessons in feminism! But Kitty doesn't have the time to give Mr Wilkes lessons in modern manners, she's got to find a way to lift a curse that's got a poltergeist smashing up a friend's house!

Fiona Dunbar says in an afterword that she wanted to write a series along the lines of Enid Blyton's Famous Five ... well, the Kitty Slade Mysteries has everything that made generations devour Enid Blyton's considerable output PLUS a plucky modern heroine, ghosts and history without the zzz.

Can't wait to check out the Hellfire Caves in West Wycombe!
