I first bought this book about 10 years ago. I was engaged to my husband at the time and he suggested that I try it. I was strongly sceptical as I did not believe it could work for me. I had been a trained dancer for years and an ex athelete and from as far back as age 15, I had always had very thick arms and legs, so much that I would find wearing jeans almost impossible, I was also FULL of cellulite - something I had had always been prone to.
At the time I regularly worked out at the gym and did 2 hours of dance a day and although I was fit, I appeared heavy set and because my mother was and still is a size 20, I feared I was genetically prone to being heavy.
In the past, when I had managed to lose weight, having starved myself I would end up completely flat chested and with no bottom, but my thighs and arms would still be big.
I finally gave in to his advice (only after we bet over a meal..If I didn't lose weight within a week he owed me dinner)
After only 1 week I had reached a size 10 and after 28 days I was a size 6/8
(I'm 5,4)
But the AMAZING thing was that I was the healthiest looking I had ever been. My thighs and arms were long and lithe and my chest and bottom firm!
I was petite and lean but with curves! not short, heavy and stumpy!
Friends and strangers alike stopped me in the road and on busses to ask about my figure and how I had gotten it. At the gym people could not believe it and assumed I had had liposuction!
When my mother saw me after 2 months from starting the book she actually sat down, jaw wide open, teary eyed and said "Who's legs are those?!"
I was 34 and finally able to wear my first pair of Jeans AND my first pair of shorts! (the last time I had worn shorts was when I was 11)
I maintained my weight and body shape for over 5 years , just by doing the excersises every so often.
I am now 44 years old and am still a size 8/10
If I have to lose a bit of weight or tone up for summer, I just do the excersises for a week or 2.
The body muscle seems to have a memory and the specific mix of excersises she uses, stretch the muscles and shape them so deeply, that the body seems to memorize it.
I am an absolute devotee of this book, as it has permanently changed my life. I regularly give this specific book as a gift to young female friends everytime they compalain about their body shape and size.
If done STRICTLY, you will have a new shaped body!
NOTE : I would reccomend this book to someone who is overweight but with no particuar health problem (back probs or knee probs) as it does rely on high impact aerobics (squats/jumping)- Her second book (The new Inch loss plan) is more indicated to older people or those with knee/back problems.
