    I wanted to get my wife a juicer, as she loves fresh juice and buying cartons from supermarkets wasn't as good as it used to be - too many seemed to be "from concentrate" and not enough fresh juice at a sensible price.

    The juicer is easy to use - peel the fruit (I have juiced oranges, mango, plums and some others - oranges definitely peel first, the rest you have to check the book) and bung it in the top tube. Press the button and hey presto - juice!

    The juice appears cloudy, I presume as it is whizzed up pretty good and maybe also due to the addition of the white pith on the oranges that is so hard (and time consuming) to remove. It tastes great and works out fairly cheap - 8 oranges are around £1.50 and make 2-3 big glasses of juice that you KNOW is freshly prepared.

    There are only 2 downsides:

    First is cleaning the machine - the pulp sticks to everything and the working parts and covers are not exactly easy to remove. You then need to thoroughly clean the juice part itself - SHARP LIKE A CHEESE GRATER!! That said, as long as you soak it in hot water, it all comes clean.

    The second is the height of the machine and the height of the juice nozzle. The machine is quite tall and wont operate under my hanging cupboards, so it needs to be in clear space. The juice nozzle is so low down that you can only fit a small glass (think whisky tumbler) under the aperture - I have taken to standing the machine on a bread board to raise it up so a 300ml glass will fit underneath.

    I haven't had the chance to try the accessories yet - a grinding accessory and a blender attatchment, but I have no doubt that they would do as good a job as the main machine.

    This machine is excellent. It juices hard veg and fruit easily and is very easy to clean. It's also a great blender, chomping through ice cubs with ease. The little chopper attachment makes great breadcrumbs or humous for example. I can highly recommend it!
