Product Description

The year is 1925, and in Liverpool, Rose Ryder worships her father, a tram-driver. She nurses a secret dream of driving trams too, even though it's not considered a job for women. Meanwhile, in Dublin, Colm O'Neill is happily settled - until his father gets a job working on the Liverptool-Birkenhead tunnel, and takes Colm across the water with him. When tragedy strikes and her beloved father is killed, Rose and her mother scrape a living by turning their home into a boarding house. And it is their boarding house which Colm and his father come to when they arrive in Liverpool...

A brillant book 12 April 2001
By A Customer
Format:Paperback
I really enjoyed reading this novel, you can feel the characters popping out of the book. It is quite an emotional novel, you can feel the sadness, and the happiness, I enjoyed reading this book quite a few times, and once started to read it couldn't put it down.

a great novel 4 Oct 2007
By Bj Lucas VINE™ VOICE
Format:Paperback
Katie flynn is awsome! and this novel proves why. Rose lives a quiet, ordinary life in Liverpool. When tragedy strikes, rose and her mother open up their home to workmen working on the new Mersey tunnel.

Meanwhile, In Ireland, Colm is feeling stifled at home. Having had a distrous career in a department store on Grafton street, he makesup his mind to join his Dad, working on the Mersey tunnel.

Great characters, a wonderful touching plot and warmth within the wonderful written story will ensure you won't be able to put it down.

A good book by Katie Flynn 20 Jun 2004
By M. E. Newell - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
Like other books by Katie Flynn "Rose of Tralee" tells the story two seprate character Rose and Colm. One in Liverpool the other in Dublin then they meet at Rose's mother boarding house. They fall in love but a misunderstanding keeps them apart for a while then come back together and get married.
This is a good book by Ms. Flynn, but some readers might find the story a bit slow, but stick with it and you will enjoy this book.
