Format: Hardcover
In the last couple of years, cookbooks for vegetarians have become bigger, glossier & more plentiful. Whilst beautifully presented, this is a real cooks staple volume. Leaving behind her beans 'n' lentils image, Rose Elliot uses modish, international ingredients and her recipes are truly fast - all ready in 30 minutes. For more experienced cooks, the quick-snack content of the book may be a little frustrating, but persevere. The Provencale Flageolet Bean soup, the Lentils with Grilled Peppers & the no-cook chocolate truffle gateau are all delicious & can be whipped up in a few commercial breaks during the week, when cooking a big meal's the last thing on your mind.Buy this in tandem with 'Glasgow Greens' by Kathryn Hamilton, & I promise, no matter what your skills in the kitchen, you'll never go hungry again.

This book is true to its title - veggie fast food. I am not a vegetarian but do want to cut down on the amount of meat we eat. Other veggie cookbooks have so many ingredients for each dish but this is much more realistic for a busy person who doesn't want to spend a day making one dish!
