This was the first step towards a new ambitious project: it was obvious that Amira and MSRs musicians shall record a new album together. After the success of Ljiljana Buttler and Mostar Sevdah Reunion, we wanted further surprise and delight our public. The new adventure started end November 2003.
A large part of Mostar Sevdah Reunion enthusiastically took part to the new recording with Amira: Mustafa Santic (clarinet, accordion, piano, vocal), Sejo Avdic (drums), Kosta Latinovic (berde bass), Ilijaz Delic (vocal) and Sandi Durakovic (vocal). Dinko Simunovic (contrabass), Slobodan Stancic (violin), (saz), Admir Spahic, Jesenko Krpo and Sasa Karabatak (guitar) also contributed to the new album.
We had the immense pleasure to welcome as special guest one of the greatest Balkan artist: Kim Burton who plays the piano and kaval. Her precious contribution adds a wonderful intensity to the songs. With this new album we also go a step further representing not only Sevdalinka but also other Balkan music, amongst others traditional Macedonian songs and from South Serbia (Vranje) and songs from the early 60s deep-rooted in the Balkan tradition

This is the real deal where everything , the choice of songs , their interpretation , the superb backing musicians from what I consider to be the best Bosnian traditional group, comes together in what is a divining collection of Bosnian traditional songs and if you want a CD that captures the spirit of Bosnia , its mountains, rivers , canyons ,culture -- this is it and I cannot recommend it highly enough.Long after I have left Bosnia and when I want to remind myself of what it was like I will put this CD on , settle back and let Bosnia capture me again.
In combination with such a great musicians as the guys from Mostar Sevdah Reunion are, this CD is the top that someone could make it.
I highly recommend this CD to all those who likes to listen sevdah. IF you have never listen music from this part of the earth, it's a right time to do so. I guarantee you one thing - you are going to enjoy!
